Take the cable car up to Monte to visit the garden. When you are finished dont take the cable car back down. Instead go into the little town and find the toboggans at the bottom of the stairs leading up to the Nossa Senhora do Monte ChurchThe toboggans were originally a fast route downhill for those with money. Now its a fun ride downhill for the tourists.
You get deposited at the bottom of the hill and have to walk back into town, but its not a long walk and the ride is worth it.
