    • This is very nice hotel, a nice arquitectural recovery of an old house, with acceptable rooms, modern and well kept facilities, gentle employees, and good bar and restaurant services.
    It has a pool inside, though u wont fiond time to use it with so much to experience outside, speacially the open fresh ocean.
    I personaly reccomend it, wether for vacations or work visits.

    The pool it's ok, though the breakfast by the pool is the best experience u can enjoy here- outstanding.

    Wonderfull, a farm of flowers, very kind owner,great breakfast,i just love it.

    • This is an ordinary hotel with good service sauna gym and swimingpool.
    But when we was there it was an new building that they did work on so it was wery noisy all day long.

    • Didn't actually stay here, but wish we had. We took tour of all the rooms & they were clean and uncrowded... nice for the price (reasonable) & included breakfast.

    The bar and pizzaria downstairs has good food & a friendly, mellow atmosphere.
    Located right downtown, near the harbor.
    Owner speaks some English.

    For those that want to relax and have a nice vacation with husband and kids, this tourism village is excellent.
    You can listen to the chirp of birds in the morning, swim in the very nice swiming-pools that they have and enjoy the very beautiful garden that surrounds the entire property.
    If you want to rest it's a very good choice. Besides that ,you can save a lot of money because each villa has it's own kitchennette, but if you are not in a mood to cook there are several good restaurants around the property and quite cheap.

    Argonauta is a guesthouse in Faja Grande, the most beautiful place in Flores and the westmost point of Europe. It's a traditional old house run by a charming Italian (who also speaks English and French) called Pierluigi who is very knowledgeable about the island (has written several books) and will take you on off-road tours, sea-kayaking round the coast and organise a trip to Corvo (neighbouring island) for you. Even if you're used to staying in "posh hotels" as we are, I would recommend Argonauta over the Hotel Occidental in Sta Cruz as it looks a bit pedestrian.

    But we wont be going back to Argonauta - we love Flores so much, we've bought a house there!

    Very friendly people! In a little Hotel I've found the reason of the 4 stars. The restaurant it's opened for dinner till 10,00 p.m. We were far away and the road was closed near Vila Franca do Campo - it was 8,30 p.m. Local people had told me that they were celebrating a religious parade, and, perhaps we had to be two or more hours stopped. I've phoned to Hotel asking for a little more time to dinner. With a sincerly laugh they said that we could arrive at 12,00 p.m. When we have arrived, the restaurant's manager told us that he had prepared a B plan: our food was hot, over our beds. Very nice people indeed!
