Aldeia da Cuada
If you look for a particular accommodation, this could be what you want. These are old renovated houses in a beautiful rural setting. The price is reasonable (approx. 70 € per house per night), considering the beauty of the place.

The house is located near the sea and the natural swimming pool. The owners are friendly people. Unfortunately the house is not properly ultra-clean, but the rooms are ok and the price very low.

Aldeia da Cuada: A Step into another Century
From the moment we arrived, we felt as if we had stepped into another time. Each of these restored homes was different from the next. We went to sleep listening to the sound of the cow bells jingling in the light fog.
*Minimum of 2 nights' stay.
* Meals are not provided.
* Kitchens are fully equipped
* Cottages are equipped with TV, stereo and telephone
* Cottages have BBQ's as well as patios with lawn chairs, table and shade
* Cottages are heated by iron stoves
* Transfers Airport/Cuada/Airport - 30? per person
* Extra beds for children upto 12 years of age -15? per child
During the mid sixties most of the residents of the Aldeia da Cuada followed other Azorians and emigrated to the New World. The Village, where, even today, motorized vehicles never arrived, was almost deserted and its houses abandoned. The touristy village of the Cuada brings together the old and the modern, having salvaged the original houses and adapted them to today's comfort.
Equipped with kitchen and bathroom, as well as spacious bedrooms, the 14 cottages make up the touristy village of the Cuada; respecting all of the safety laws of modern accommodation, without losing any of the rural designs of its stone construction.
Only 2 kilometers away you will find the seaside town of Faja Grande, one of the most sought after summer spots on the Island of Flores. Here a deep blue sea invites you to an invigorating swim.
Our cottage (I can't speak for the others) was damp and chilly but had such character. We often spoke of the people that had lived here before the village was deserted. Since we were there in the off season, there was no restaurants open -- we lived on cheese, wine and a package of chicken.

Hotel Ocidental: A great view of the sea
From this hotel you have a good view of the sea as well of Corvo Island.
They offer a good service and organise daytrips, all year round, to Corvo.

Casa de Hóspedes de Noémia Teixeira: Guest House
Noémia Teixeira, the owner, surprised me again coming to the airport to pick me up.
This family is very kind and is trying always to do your best for the guests. The only no is the house is not very clean. Anyway, rooms are spacious and comfortable.

Just in front of the house are the natural swimming pools.
Nowadays, the owner can rent with or without breakfast. Breakfast is served in their own bar in downtown. Also in this bar, we can eat for a good price. Anyway, you are allowed to use the living room in the house.
If you book in advance, they can lend you a car for a very special price included in the room price.
I must say, this woman is really kind. I was trying to find a car, without success, and she has decided to lend me her family truck without any charge.
