 | Budva Reviews | Tips 1 - 10 of 23 | | As soon as you approach Budva, you will see dozens of people out on the street holding signs which say Sobe ("Room" in Serbian) or Zimmer ("Room" in German) or sometimes simply "Apartment". It's not unusual to see an elderly woman sitting on a chair under an umbrella holding a sign, beckoning to passersby. Good way to put grandma to work to earn her keep.
There is an abundance of rooms available for rent in Budva. The vacancy rate has increased dramatically over the past few years, according to our Budvan relatives. No advance reservations are necessary. You'll have plenty to choose from and all at an extremely reasonable price. It goes without saying...check the place out before renting. Ask if breakfast is included - it often is and you'll be treated to real honest to goodness down home local cuisine. But you can't go wrong - there are so many choices. It's a buyers market out there. Leave a Comment Theme: Bed and BreakfastPrice: less than US$20 » Currency ConverterComparison: least expensive

Villa Mirenza, where I stayed, stands on a distance from the sea and the Old Town (which is considered to be a main spot for promenades). Villa stands in the neighbourhood of the same private houses, which makes this district very quiet. You may drop in a local small supermarket, where very polite salespeople will rush to help you. Streets are very clean and covered with blooming plants. Walking from villa Mirenza to Old Town may take 15 minutes, but you will not get tired! It will give you a pleasure!!! One of the major hotels promoted in Budva is the Hotel Avala. It's classified as a 5 star hotel, but you should know the hotel classification system used in Montenegro doesn't map to the system used by the rest of the world. A 5 star hotel in Montenegro usually just means big with a casino and it could be similar to a 2 star everywhere else.
We didn't stay at the Avala, but we walked by it on the way from the parking lot to the old town, which of course, qualifies me as an expert on the hotel. On the outside, the hotel looks neglected. I don't know what the rooms look like, but I was astonished at the neglect on the outside. The Avala is one of the huge monstrosities built during the communist era in Montenegro. Every major tourist destination in Montenegro has at least one of these. When these hotels were built, no effort at all was made to blend these structures into the surroundings or adopt the architectural style of the nearby buildings. There is no shortage of accommodations in Budva - at least not right now. Don't stay in a large hotel. Look for a private accommodation instead. I arrived in Budva Montenegro sept 2006 by bus from Bar. On leaving the bus station I saw a sign that I had told to look for., Sobe, being a room in a private house. It was owned by a lovely couple and their son, the cost was only 10 euro a night. i would love to come again.

It is great if you could get a room with a sea view - it can make the stay very pleasant! Maybe I should warn you that the rooms are rather old-looking, but fortunately clean. Leave a Comment Theme: HotelPrice: US$40-80 » Currency ConverterAddress: Right by the beach and the Old Town

On my journey to Budva I stayed in an apartment, one room in fact (kitchen-corner included). The price was 35 Euros/night. Well, apart from the room amenities which were new and relatively good, it had some shortcomings. The sheets sucked and the bed was not comfortable at all, and the room had a stink of moisture, not noticeable when coming at first. Anyway, we enjoyed having a parking free of charge as the area was enough safe to let the car in front of the house. So, my tip, check the house (and the bed :)) well before paying for the price, and it's better to see several rooms before accepting to hire one of them.

We were looking for a quick week away in Europe, somewhere neither of us had been and decided to try Montenegro. Well, how this little country remains largely undiscovered is a mystery. The scenery is amazing - there are mountains, fjords, sandy beaches, islands and ancient walled towns all to be explored. We stayed at Becici Sunset Apartments, just outside Budva which we stumbled across on budvaholidays.co.uk. You don't really need a car if you just want to relax as there are plenty of restaurants and shops nearby but to explore Montenegro, you will need one. We booked our flights to Tivat with Montenegro Airlines and the drive to Budva takes 20 minutes. We plan to go back to Montenegro in May and would definitely recommend the apartments. Hopefully Montenegro won't get spoiled before then.
The apartments seem to be privately owned and so the furnishings are of a higher standard than you would expect. There's a pool and open-air Jacuzzi pol on site with a small sun terrace and a huge sandy beach 5 minutes walk away. There's a fully fitted kitchen with breakfast bar and a luxurious bathroom. The apartments have a double and single bedroom, a lounge area with sofa beds and there is air-conditioning in the lounge. The terrace is large with a table and chairs.
