How can i get from Podgorica Airport to Budva?

by mcartoon

Is it best to take public transport (if there is any) or take a taxi? Roughly how long and how much would it be for 2 people? Thanks

It's about 60 km, so it won't be cheap.
Bus schedules are difficult to find online, my suggestions is to write one of the tourist agencies, or if you have alread booked accomodations, ask them.
My random guess would be that there is a Podgorica-Budva bus at least once a day, and certainly one from the airport to town.
good luck

The busses going to Bar every hour or even more often and it will cost you aroung 5 euros. Transport there is very reliable. Taxi will be about 50.

Travel Tips for Budva

Towns and Municipalities

by karenincalifornia

Montenegro has its towns, which are the small villages, and municipalities, which are a group of towns. The Budvan municipality is 38 km long and stretches from Jaz to Buljarica, with a population of 16,000 people. That's not a lot of people, so Budva is able to retain its small town atmosphere. Budva has a reputation of being a popular party spot for younger people with its beaches and collection of bars, discos and cafes. I wasn't able to spend much time here, but I thought the town was rather laid back and relaxing.

In 2004, some of the the town's monuments were undergoing renovation. In general, the town of Budva was kept up, although the large hotels on the beach looked quite rundown and almost abandoned. We didn't stay in Budva, but if I did, I wouldn't stay in one of the large hotels.

Modern Budva

by vesna04

And here is something I do not like. That is the new town of Budva. Built without any plan and order, that how it looks to me. To many new buildings and houses, fighting for the space, with economy ruling, sometimes forgeting about nice and human. It is realy shame since Budva had the potential to be one of the most beautiful towns on the Adriatic.

cevapcici & pljeskavica

by pecsihornet

Montenegrins love their meat; kebabs(cevapcici), hamburger steaks (pljeskavica), vegetables stuffed with meat and mixed grills of pork, liver, sausage and rissoles. You have to taste these!!
For breakfast: the traditional Balkan burek is a greasy layered pie of cheese and meat.

Sveti Stefan

by Aurorae

SVeti Stefan is a beautiful little island just a couple of kilometers after Budva. It used to be a fishermen's island, but 40 years ago it was turned into a very pompous luxurious hotel of 5*, where the extra royal suite costs 1500 EUR per night!!! (the famous villa 118) The access is forbidden for non-guests of the hotel, but if you want, you can make a tour around the island for 6 EUR.

Another Place With Great Atmosphere

by vesna04 about Old Fisherman's Pub

It has kinda pub's menu. You can choose from hamburgers, chicken wings, sausages, English breakfast and fish. They also have Italian pizzas which are prepared in special open-fire oven. The place is popular with locals as well as with the tourists which is in the way quality guarantee. Budva is small town, so if it wasn't good it would have no costumers out of season. Once I had pizza here and it was very good indeed.
