Hotel Ideal
As Podgorica is not really a tourist destination as such, most accommodations are aimed at business travellers. It was a bit difficult for us to find a place for one night for an affordable price. After all we found Hotel Ideal, which was just perfect for us.
We booked an ensuite double room including breakfast for 40 Euro per night through http://www.booking.com/. Our room included air condition and and was more than adequate for the price. The staff of the family owned hotel was always helpful and friendly.
The breakfast was a set breakfast, but with several things to chose from.
Our idea was to book the hotel for another night at the end of our trip, but unfortunately this time it was booked-up due to the European Championship qualifier between Montenegro and Wales.

Hotel Ideal
Hotel Ideal is a lovely relaxed place in the new part of town on the other side of the railway line. If you are not foot tired then you can walk to the city center in 15-20 minutes. The hotel is not so easy to find as there are like two little streets with the same name next to each other. Because it's built in a newer area there is no house number either.
But if you come from the railway line on the Pete Proleterske Brigade Road you will see a small half-round square on your left with a supermarket in the back. Go to the right of that supermarket and then turn left after a 20 or so meters onto the unfinished road with the tree lined pavement and after another 30 meters or so you are right there. There is parking space in front of the hotel.
The hotel seems to be a family run place. The reception is not always covered, so be patient.
The rooms are clean and very adequat for the price. This is the best value hotel we found for budget travellers. All other hotels in Podgorica are way more expensive. We paid Euro 45.00 for a double room.
Breakfast is included. There are a few simple breakfast options. Unfortunately, they are not written on a menu card but you will told quite fast.
We were very happy to stay here and would stay here again any time. In fact we wanted to stay here again before flying out but the hotel was full of football fans because of the Montenegro-Wales match.
