Panorama Hotel Gazivoda: Castle-like feeling, great views, super service!

If you plan to drive along the Adriatic coast, no matter in which country, please do continue south from Croatians' so favorite beaches. Cross the border to Montenegro (ex-Serbia-Montenegro). You'll find unbeliavable untouched fisherman villages and cosy small towns not ruined by mass tourism.

This hotel is one of the best hotel memories in my life so far. It is located in the Montenegrian mountains, and from its balconies you can see lake Skadar, which belongs half-half to Montenegro and Albania. The view is breathtaking; black high mountains and deep blue river which connects to lake Skadar.

The mountain air is also so fresh and good to breath. Even if it was still almost wintertime, we wanted to sit in the balcony with our jackets on. We drank some wine and wrote our postcards and sent sms/text messages to our families, relatives and friends.

The service was something I've never seen. There was an elderly man, a very fine and well behaving gentleman. I didn't see any other guests there (but it was March). You can have your own peace, literally.

Rooms were nice and clean, nothing to complain. Especially we loved the big oval shaped royal style balcony we had - the pillars where not made of metal but of some white stone instead.

Unique Quality: The balcony and the view from it, to the river and mountains and lake Skadar was the best thing in this hotel. It was cosy, romantic, quiet - great place to relax after having driven a long time.

The service -and prices- was outstanding: A 1 litre bottle of good local white wine, carried in a nice way into your room without asking, the gentleman having the towel bended in his arm and the bottle brought and given to us in a silver coated/plated tray - all this was 6 euros!!!
