More about Sveti Stefan
Rilly nice kind of cactus !
I'm after some cheap accommodation for a 1 night stop over in Sveti Stefan, but have been unable to find anything on the web.
Can anybody suggest any places.
Thanks in advance.
RE: Cheap Accommodation
i just went there and stayed in an appartment for 25Euros a night. Sveti Stefan is a bit more expensive than other places in Montenegro I think. We had an amazing view over Sveti Stefan, with balcony etc,so it was really worth it. I cant remember the name of the lady anymore, but just walk along the roads which look over Sveti Stefan, there should be advertisements for appartment rooms.
Re: Cheap Accommodation
Maybe pass Sveti Stefan and just after on the right is a place called Crvena Glavica (Little Redhead). It has camping (2 people was 10 Euros) There's a cooler avail (3euro) and electric outlets(3euro). The camping site is in an olive grove and there are beach access all over. Mostly wild and a bit of a hike downhill, but worth every painful step :).
There are also apartments up on the road that are inexpensive. Directly down from the campsite, theres a little cafe/restaurant. They have cold beer and the freshest seafood ever!! I really recommend going here. Have fun!!
Travel Tips for Sveti Stefan
Where nature was born
Sveti Stefan is maybe the best , fancy place in Montenegro. All of you who like fkk beaches, visit beach crvena glavica. It is near the main beach, you can reach this place through the sea, if you swimm to the south, or from the main road via camping centre crvena glavica! The best place to fell adriatic, to drink spring water, to take your cloth off, and spend time with your dear person...
Pebble Beach with clear waters
When my husband took me to Sveti Stefan, I remember as we drove down the hill I could see the island better and better. It was surreal to see a town completely encompassing an island within stone walls. Absolutely breathtaking would be a better way to describe the scene.
We only spent the day on the beach here. As an American, my Serbian is minimal to terrible. Because of this, I was allowed to use the hotel restroom for free. Unfortunately for most guests this is not the case.
By the time we were on this beach I was very sunburnt and needed shade. We had to rent an umbrella for a few dollars. Bring plenty of sunblock with you, and enjoy the beautiful scenery. The photo here .. You can see the beach on the right, this was the beach that we had stayed on for the day. We had to pay a fee to use the beach, but it was well worth it.
Also, there is a cafe nearby with beverages such as coffee and pilsner beer and water available.
Pay for a tour in the town-hotel
A former fisherman village, mentioned in documents for the first time in 1442, since 1960 represents a world famous town-hotel with comfortable villas and luxurious apartments.
If you want to visit it, and you're not a guest of teh hotel you have to pay around 6 Euro (it depends by the season).
I didn't visit the town-hotel...the style is the same of Budva old town....
Sveti Stefan Beach
At this, for many people the most attractive spot of all the Adriatic coast, we come across a very rare natural phenomenon - the tombola. It is a sandy isthmus that connects the coast with the crag, on which St. Stefan, the exclusive town-hotel is built. There are two sandy beaches on the left and on the right side of the tombola. The sand is reddish and the beaches are 1170m long. In the background there are restaurants, cafes, a hotel, a diving club, a parking lot. All this is situated in a park that is arranged in a Mediterranean style. St. Stefan is the only de lux location at the Montenegrin seaside, and its exclusiveness has been famous in the world for a long time. The most popular people come here gladly to spend their vacations. Some of the guests were Villie Brant, Boby Fisher, Sofia Loren, Monica Viti, Ingemar Stenmark, Silvester Stalone, Claudia Shiffer...Among the recognitions that St. Stefan was awarded, is the prize Golden Apple (1964) from Life magazine.
Sveti Stefan at Dusk
From the mountains above (descending from road from Cetinje), there is a spectacular view on the whole coast, especially at dusk, when you can see the lights easily appearing and illuminating the town and the sea.
