Then Antonius Pius, humbled by the miracle, freed the Saint and ended all persecutions against the Christians throughout the Roman Empire."

Ha, ha... Ja sam trazio na engleskom... Ima vise podataka ;-) Jedino treba znati da je Sveta Petka na engleskom Santa Paraskevi (od grcke reci za petak). Inace, jesi li znala da su njene mosti nekih tridesetak godina s kraja 15. i pocetkom 16. veka bile u Beogradu?

Evo sada sam se malo izgubio... Sveta Petka koja drzi oci je rimska mucenica iz 2 veka. Ona koja je mnogo postovana kod nas je podviznica iz 11 veka, najverovatnije srpskog porekla, i njene mosti su bile u Beogradu (a i sada su dva prsta). Ok, razjasnili smo dosta toga :-)
A Jagodina jeste blizu, ali zacudo nikada nisam bio tamo. A ti u Kragujevcu?
U, to je divno mesto. Manasija je prelepa... Mi smo imali srecu da idemo i na zidine, skroz u krug :-). Svidjaju li ti se nase stranice o Kragujevcu i Despotovcu?
A huge problem for tourists visiting Belgrade is that there is very little tourist information available. However, there is one book that is great and should be read by anybody visitng Belgrade, I even used it for info for this page. It's called "Guide to Belgrade" by Ljubica Corovic. This is not a tourist slogan but the truth. We are not bearing in mind the well know Serbian hospitality that seems to grow with the number of kilometers our guest has made to come to Belgrade. Belgrade is an unusual mosaic built up by centuries of overlapping civilizations in which everyone finds at least something that reminds him of home, obviously wrapped up in the inimitable Belgrade charm.
There is no place in the world with such a natural combination of oriental passion and European finesse. Having stood on the path of many conquests going both from the East and from the West, Belgrade has been repeatedly destroyed and rebuilt, and has not the continuity of style and the elegance of similar European big cities. On the other hand, it has abundant vitality, sense of humor, curiosity. That' s why you will never get bored in Belgrade!

I read on so many pages of VT that vegetarians will die in Belgrade and find it impossible to find anything without meat. I don't think it's really that hard, there are many great and tasty things to eat that are suitable for vegetarians. We have many nice salads, pastries, fish dishes and so on. So relax Vegetarians, you won't starve in Belgrade!
