This small hostel is located just an easy 10 minute walk from the train/bus station.
Its 16 euros per night in a dorm bed
Dorms are fairly small (theres only 2 dorms, total of 12 beds) and there 2 shared bathrooms
they have free internet and a small tv room
There wasnt much of an atmosphere when i was there but it was raining heavily for the 2 days and i would imagine on a nice day that people would hang out on the patio and would make it more enjoyable
Its location is fine, just a 5-10min walk to city centre.
We hadn't much choice when it came to choosing somewhere to stay once my girlfriends mother had checked out the hostels we found online, we found that they certainly didn't match the photos on their websites....until this one. Belgrade Eye is centrally located and close to most of the old Belgrade (its the more interesting end). We took their double room and paid quite a lot for it (42 euro a night) especially when you compare the standards I am more used to. Accomodation in Belgrade is expensive but in my experience the standards aren't matching of what you could normally expect.
Anyway, the hostel is quite dingy, and our room very dusty and not clean at all on arrival. Shower rooms were awful and only cleaned every 3 or 4 days (we stayed 15 nights). We had bed bugs and other irritants and we weren't offered new clean bed clothes at any stage or for our room to be cleaned. Which is terrible service if you ask me. The kitchen was pretty bad, with only one hob on the cooker working during our full stay. So beware this one guys.
Belgrade is an amazing city and deserves better low cost accomodation options.
Unique Quality: Reasonably exepensive for European standards
Terrible toilets
Not clean
Bad service
Directions: The Belgrade Eye is a five-minute walk from the Republic Square and Knez Mihailova street, the city's main pedestrian area
Belgrade Eye is a small size but friendly hostel in a fairly central location. I would avoid the dorm in the seperate building as there is no bathroom.
