Keti recommended this hotel because it is the nearest to the airport - there are no airport hotels! It’s on the Novi Belgrade side, so no traffic problems on the way out to the airport. My flight was at 8.20am, so time was precious.

It is great. Stylish. Cool. Expensive by local standards, but value for money.

I arrived about 6, after a 6.5 hour drive from Ohrid at the other end of Macedonia, and then a tricky drive through the centre of Belgrade at rush hour to return the rented car. It was the perfect antidote.

Best of all, happy hour had just started in the 8th floor rooftop bar. So upstairs for 3 beers and a club sandwich in the evening sunshine with views back over the city.

A big buffet breakfast was included in the price.

They also have a shuttle to take you out to the airport - probably they do pick ups as well. Cost 970 dinar.

My room price was 12,000 dinar (about €110) including the breakfast. Allegedly a discounted internet price.

    Highly recommended.

    Unique Quality: The style!

Directions: It's just next to the main road between the airport and the city, close to the Belgrade Arena.

Looking for towns to stay overnight

by dweymouth

My wife and I will be driving from Podgorica to Nis next month, probably via Pozega. “Pupulainen” was nice enough to tell us about some sights to see along the way. Can anyone suggest a couple of good places to spend the night on that general route? About how long will that drive take? We have never been to Serbia and look forward to seeing the country. Thanks a lot for any advice.

Thank you Makint13, that is right on our way. The main website that I could find that listed the hotels for Cacak seemed pretty out-of-date. Do you have a suggestion on the best place to stay in Cacak? The website listed the following hotels/motels:

Hotel Prezident, Hotel Beograd, Hotel Morava, Motel Cacak, Motel Jugoprevoz, Motel Kole, Konjevici, Motel Livade, Preljina.

Travel Tips for Belgrade

Tourist info

by elPierro

The Tourist info is very helpfull and they speak English very well. They are an example for many other tourist information agencies. You can get free maps here and they give you the additional "where are we & what you must see nearby talk" without asking.

The Tourist info can be found in the main hall of the train station and at several places in the citycenter including the underground passageways at Terrazije.

Belgrade Tip

Walking in Kalamegdan on high heels - uau, what a sensation, having a cappuccino on a terrace from where you could easily see both Sava and Danube, walking in the parks near the zoo and ending your night with excellent Italian food.

University of belgrade

by elsebeth

I was at the university for about a year attending a language course. I met lots of very nice people, from countries all over the world.
I went to some lectures i didnt understand much off but it was just nice being there observing how university lectures work in Belgrade, and they are much different from my universityin Denmark.
For instance are the students writing everything the professor says down, and we never do that in Denmark. Dont know if that mean we are lazy or dumber but it is a very interesting observation.

Trg Republike

by elsebeth

This is the place where people meet in town. Its a statue of Knez Mihajlo, which is also name of the big pedestrian area in Belgrade.
The statue normally goes by the name Konj ( horse) and people meet kod konja( by the horse.
