by Jeca011
In Belgrade there's always something happening to meet everyone's taste.
The City of Belgrade is the founder of 9 cultural events (FEST, BITEF, BEMUS, BELEF, International Competition of Music Youth, Festival of Documentary and Short film, October Salon, Joy of Europe, Belgrade Book Fair), and also the supporter of 38 events in the field of culture performed in Belgrade.
Don't forget that Belgrade is the centre of culture and art of Serbia and Montenegro. It is Belgrade where our most notable artists create, where over 9.000 theatrical performances, exhibitions, concerts, performance events, and other artistic programs are presented and where prominent authors in the world of art are hosted. Belgrade is the centre of the highest state and national institutions of culture and art: Serbian Academy of Arts and Sciences, the National Library of Serbia, the National Museum, the National Theatre and the University of Arts. Yugo Cars?
by SoulFisher
These old cars can be seen all over Serbia. I think they are Yugo cars.
Yugo was a former Yugoslavian car maker. I do not know if it still exists.
They were one of the very few car brands from a communist country that managed to sell cars in Western Europe and the US before the fall of communism. Budget requirements apart, the police still uses this car for economic reasons.
Doesn't the Italian police use FIATs and the German police Volkswagens?

CUKARICA Municipality
by Prasnjavi
The Municipality of Cukarica covers an area of 15,650 hectares, which is inhabited by a population of around 160,000.
It got its name after the Cukar’s Inn and Cukar drinking fountain that were situated somewhere vis a vis the present-day Ada Ciganlija. By the decree of King Peter I dated December 30, 1911, the village of Cukarica was divided off from the municipality of Zarkovo into a separate municipality and, therefore, that date is nowadays celebrated as the Day of the Municipality. During the first few years after the Second World War, it was the 7th urban region but, as of 1950, it has again had the status of the City municipality. Its patron day – The Holy Trinity, the Municipality of Cukarica celebrates 50 days after Easter Day (a movable feast).
