An Elegant Hotel Highly Recommended!

by greekcypriot

Tami hotel is situated on a panoramic viewpoint spot in the beautiful city of Nis, only two and a half Kms from the city centre. There are some shops and small groceries about 400meters from the hotel though!

We spent one night at this lovely and elegant hotel on our way to Budapest and then again when we returned from Prague we spent another night. We had two different rooms while there. Room # 412 was elegant but a bit smaller than room #109 that we had the second time. Both rooms were very nice, clean, comfortable and stylish. There were not coffee facilities in the rooms but I always carry my own teapot along.

We were a group of 42 people and everyone was satisfied here. Our first room had an empty mini bar, while the second one had some water, chocolates and drinks. (Personally I prefer empty ones to keep water and some fruit)

Bathrooms are not big but are ok. Our two rooms had shower facilities only, without a bath tab, but this did not bother us at all. Towels were bright white and seemed new. There was a bottle of soap liquid above the wash basin, and another one on the wall in the shower cabin. What it lacked was some shampoo and conditioner, and probably a tube of body cream. Instead we had a small shoe shine sponge which we found in the wardrobe. I believe shampoo and conditioner are a must for a 4* hotel. Nobody from our group found slippers in our rooms even though it is stated on the website of the hotel.

Breakfast was adequate with a variety of cheese pies, cakes, ham and cheese, a variety of cereals, omelet, fruit juice, coffee and tea, lovely prunes, bananas, apricots, as well as sausages. The last day we had to leave early before dawn, so our leader asked for a packed breakfast which considered one fruit, juice, and a sandwich.

Dinner was fine, with chicken and vegetables and cabbage salad as the main course, and a gateau the first night. (I asked to be brought fruit instead). Beer costs 2 euro at the hotel restaurant. Our dinner when we returned to the hotel again after 5 days was lovely. We had a lovely burger with salad, and a gateau again or fruit.

In all, our stay here was very satisfying. Everyone in the group had the same feeling. We really wished to have one or two more days here before leaving back for Greece. We all had a vote in the coach just for fun, concerning the 3 hotels we stayed at during our 9 day trip to Europe, and this hotel seemed to be the best.

Swiss Hotel: Not 5 star but a welcome sight...Decani

by wise23girl

Decani , Kosovo..

Well the staff came out to greet us and made us welcome (And it was 11pm). Very little English was spoken but we had GyuriFT (George) who had been there before and has a few languages under his belt. One of the staff was quite fluent in French and an English speaking waiter came the next morn. Of course being Albanian the manager spoke German.

We were fed and shown to our room in due course....So inexpensive. For four people we paid 32 Euro which included food and a drink. I think the rooms were 20 Euro. We had the main bedroom and Katherine the 'dorm'. Better than being on the next level alone for Katherine.

Now it was fairly basic but they were not expectnig us and we did arrive at 11pm at night. The room was large and fairly clean...only saw men working in the hotel the whole time and you know how men clean!. But no toilet paper...lucky we carry tissues! The shower was nice and hot but the one and only towel a bit rough though the towels were rough in Bitola and Skopje to be fair...might be the water

Likewise at breakfast we were well fed for a small price. Lots of men arrived to sit and smoke and probably have a coffee and a chat.

You can stay here and be fed on a very low budget and they certainly make you welcome. It is close to town and a bankomet (ATM). Staff appreciate a tip. Small amounts to each as they do not usually share.

There seemed to be plenty of rooms available.

If you want to know more VT mail George (GyuriFT)

Free wi fi in the eating area.

Grand Hotel Pristina: old-fashioned hotel in downtown of Pristina

by mbittner123

Hotel is in downtown, easy to find from everywhere.
The building is old fashioned (typical remain of socialism).
Hotel is not expensive, but for similar price you can find smaller, modern hotels (in downtown as well).
Ppl @ the reception are very polite and friendly.

hotel ambasador: nis hotel

by rsayers

this hotel is very basic to say the least. the phone costs are not excessive they are extortionate. far far in excess of the hotel rate for a short call to uk. do not even dream about using the phone. the lifts are third rate.

phone call to the uk are stunningly expensive. i shall give serbia a miss in future.

Ambassador Hotel: DONT GO!!!

by kelmck23

Dont be fooled, there are more hotels than the ambassador. Your car is probably a nicer place to sleep. I can handle not so great rooms, but this was to much. For 80 dollars its just not worth it. Other hotels if I can remember are fairly hard to find. Im not sure what the hotel we stayed in was called but if you follow the river you will find it no prob.

Hotel Ambasador: Decent choice in Nis

by antonof

If you didn't have luck to be raised under the Communist regime this is the opportunity to get a bit of what has left of it. The old hotel where even Richard Burton and Liz Taylor slept some decades ago is in the centre of the city and it is a perfect start for all of the trips you planned or just to enjoy a nightlife in Nis.

Hotel Breza: Don't Stay Here!

by SerbianScout

Hotel Breza is a decaying state run hotel in the quaint town of Vrnjacka Banja. It has seen better days but I can forgive that. What I can't forgive are the stupid rules and indifferent staff. The indoor pool closes at 1700 hrs for hotel guests and does not re-open to them until 1200 the next day. It does open to recreational swimmers from the town at 1900 but hotel guests are not welcome. The table tennis center closes at 1800. WHY? There is no internet cafe although it is advertised that they have one. The rooms are fine but not as clean as they could be, particularly, the bathrooms. The pillows are downright unsanitary and have the stains of many past users.

But, the worst thing about the Breza could be the worst 3 star dining room I have ever eaten in. The food was absolutetely the most disgusting meal I have (not) eaten in the Balkans and I have lived here for a year and a half.

I understand that the tourist industry has suffered because of international embargos but in a country where the cost of labor is so low and the general quality of food very high and cheap there is no excuse for this. Finally, who is the genius who thinks pools need to close at 5pm and ping pong tables at 6 pm and who is the liar who says this hotel has an internet cafe?

Stay away until they privatize this place.

Indoor pool (that is closed more than it is open. An advertised internet cafe that does not exist. A table tennis center that also closes before dinner.

Multiple choices

You can stay in private accomodation (agritourism), pensions, hotels, hostels, you can rent rooms, camp... At least acomodation is easy to arrange here!
