Apartment in Mackat, 14 km from Zlatibor: Village Accommodation in South-Western Serbia

Let me give you a tip from a village called Mackat, 14 km from Zlatibor. This village is very prosperous, with six restaurants, some of them with menus in English. All basic products are home-made and you can buy cheese, salamis and the famous Serbian ham “prsuta” directly from local farmers. We have been guests of Mira and Rade Vasiljevic in summer 2008 and we were very satisfied. Our hosts were very kind. They rent an apartment that was clean, with no unnecessary luxury but well-equipped. Our breakfast (included in price) and all food provision was excellent. We went with kids and it was a unique experience as they could see life animals in the village. If you want to travel without kids, the January festival PRSUTIADA (regional products and music event) might be a great option for you, just book in advance. Mokra Gora (the village of E.Kusturica), Sarganska osmica, Ivo Andric’s Bridge over the Drina river or skansen Sirogojno are quite close. A great trip to real Serbia!
