Crown Plaza Hotel Bucharest: classic IHG at crown plaza

by gwened

This is a dandy of a hotel and a great chain indeed IHG. The hotel is well located right on the spot of the expo center romexpo, and the communication palace as well as business and shopping that is all business. many international companies send their folks here to stay, and the place offers all the amenities and classic ambiance you are searching.

You have three restaurants and the La Brasserie with French decor has a wonderful buffet evening dinner that is just too good at a great price.

For those seeking a bit more upscale this is the hotel to go in the same neighborhood as others.

location is great with pool, garage, and great restaurants. These are all good for me.

Athenee Palace Hilton Bucharest: The INN with Historic Luxury

by Ekahau

I would wake up every morning to still warm fresh Romanian pastries now what is not to love about that the serves it is 5 star the staff fantastic and know you by name. I asked the manager about New York Times foreign correspondent C. L. Sulzberger wrote in his memoir A Long Row of Candles that as World War II was approaching, he settled into the Athénée Palace "to enjoy my wait for war and where his room was?? He said you read Sulzberger’s essays with real pride in his smile he gave it to me a corner sweet overlooking the square where Sulzberger wrote in world war 2.

I travel most of the time in my role and I just love it when I get to stay in a hotel with real history charm and character and the The Athénée Palace hotel in Bucharest, Romania, now a Hilton has all of that and more. The more is the fantastic location right on square next to the Athenee concert hall. Now to the History it was built as part of the Romanian Athenaeum where you would stay when you attended the concerts but became Europe's most notorious den of spies in the years leading up to World War II and stayed a hotspot in the cold war.

Ramada Plaza Hotel: a dandy in Bucharest plaza

by gwened

The hotel is part of the great international chain Ramada, fairly new hotel in an area of hotels near the Romexpo expo center, and easy out to city center. Great restaurant (see tip), and friendly service with modern facilities in a contemporary design.

it can be good for business and pleasure as tramway bus stop right outside plaza on entrance to hotel. Prices are nice about 79€ per night

convenient to city center avoiding main traffic jams of the city center, gym, ând nice quiet location, facilities are new and or very clean. Service is courteous and fast.

Guesthouses

by ancabelascu

There are plenty of pensions/guesthouses in Romania and people will treat you as kings if you want to live the Romanian dream Here you have the possibility to turn back in time, eat only fresh natural vegetables and meat from the courtyard.

Everything is real if you go to the right place.

Slanic Prahova: Hotel Slanic

by kleine_aurica

This summer I went to a resort from Romania, Slanic Prahova, where you can visit the biggest saline from Europe, with the Green Mountain and Bride Cave. You can swim in in natural salt water swimming pools. I stayed on a hotel with their own treatment base newly refurbished. You can treat a multitude of diseases there. I've discovered this hotel by visiting its web-site, www.hotelslanic.ro.

They have a newly refurbished tratament base, where you can treat a lots of diseases.

Casa Brugheza: Pension in Sibiu

by cianmurr

I would fully recommend this pension. It is situated about a 15-20 min walk from Sibius historic centre. It is comprised of a self contained upper floor own access apartment. We had the slightly larger room with a huge bathroom. The eating area is shared if the other two rooms are occupied, although we had the whole place to ourselves. The house is newly built but the apartment is very tastefully styled in a tratitional way by the artist owners. There is car parking on the street outside and it is in a very nice and queit area of Sibiu. They serve a really nice breakfast and provide snacks for when you arrive home in the evening! We found the owners to be lovely people they were very helpful and even gave us a little present when we left! If you are looking for a cosy, romantic apartment then I would definitly recommend this place.

I.L.Caragiale nr. 22 ap. 3 Bucharest in the area u: watch out for hotelier ADAM NEDELCU

by John_Janssen

About my travel to Bucharest , Romania, December 2009.
If you want to travel to Bucharest AVOID any contact with this person. Is a SCAM.
ADAM NEDELCU born at 20.08.1981 the place unknown by us.. The room he “rents” is located in I I.L.Caragiale nr. 22 ap. 3 Bucharest.
I and my girlfriend, we found out that the room is not his room. I asked for his services.

http://lodging4all.webng.com/PrdDetail.asp?item_id=1150&category_id=4&name=&pricemin=&pricemax=&author=&
When I entered the room the scent was terrible as he kept there 2 homeless people.
No heating system no clean bedsheets, nothing.
He asked for the money in advance (640 € for 20 days – that means 35€/night in a very dirty room with roadshes as company) and he promised the very next day he comes to repair the heater and to exchange the bed sheets and to clean the bathroom.
That nite I slept in cold. There was a small “fridge” Daewoo mark on the balcony (the balcony is included in the room’s living space) which didn’t work as well.
The very next day I called him to give my money back . the night I stood there was payed separately.
He never came. There came a “partner” of his ( …) with the value of 350€ back. the rest of money is gone for ever.
I and my girlfriend we went to the police to ask for help.
My girlfriend filled a declaration with what happened.
I just wrote this to warn you for this man, he uses the following phone and email adresses:
Email: adamitza2005@yahoo.com
Phone: 0726113199 ; 0730950950

private appartments: Romanias best accomodation

by noaptes

I stay in many different categories here. My best tip is to rent an appartment. It will cost you around 40 euros a night, and then you live luxus in centrum of Buchuresti.
You get a bedroom, livingroom, and kitchen, and maybe a balcon.
Hotels with a little standard, ex hotel Ibis takes 79 euro a night, its ok, but me personally prefer appartments.

Hotel select: Cheap and good value for money

by Terje1966
