si inca o bucata din Oradea
by oradea_dream
In 1870, the Jewish community in Oradea split up into the orthodox and the congregational (neologian) communities. The latter decided to build its own synagogue. The first brick in the construction was laid in 1877. The construction was finished on 24 September, 1878. The city hall's main engineer Busch David designed the construction plans of the synagogue. The entreprenneur in charge of carrying out the construction was Rimánóczy Kálmán, Sr. The inner paintings in moorish style come from the brush of Horovitz Mór from Kosice.

City Hall
by edvin_br
Oradea has a great beautiful City Hall, which called the "Primaria" in Romanian.
It is located just near the Crisul river and has a great yellow color that is amazingly highlighted by night.
The Primaria was built between 1902-1903 by Rimanoczy Kalman junior and today it is one of the most superior buildings in the Old town.

The Cathedral
by Mique
It is the biggest baroque cathedral in Romania and is build next to the old bishop's palace (the current museum). Since i was running out of time because of my visit to the museum, i never checked whether you can visit this cathedral and whether it is worth it. But on the outside it looks nice. I especially like the color and the fact that it is so much more sober then the big cathedrals in much of europe.
