Location, location, location!
The Aro Palace is in a great location--across the street from Central Park, about 2 blocks from the main square, close to the Republicii pedestrian street. Most of the attractions in the old city are in easy walking distance.
My room was clean and comfortable, and the service was fine. I enjoyed my stay there, and I would definitely recommend it.

A luxury hotel in the middle of the city
The hotel is a wonderful construction in the centre of Brasov.
It offers to the guests numerous facilities and an excellent place to rest and to relax.
The rooms are very comfortable, modern designed and the personal is good qualified and hospitable.

Nice hotel, great location

This modern annex to an older hotel is a good business class hotel (deserves 4 stars by European standards, has 5 stars by local standards) in an excellent location on the edge of the central old town. The location is ideal for tourists since it is an easy walk to almost all sights.
Rooms are pleasant and well-furnished, with nice views. Service is friendly and there is a free internet station in the lobby. The breakfast buffet is generous and tasty.
I highly recommend this hotel and this town for a tourist visit. Since I traveled with a pre-paid package, I cannot comment on hotel price or value.

Romanian Top Hotel
I arrived in Brasov with no hotel booked, the hotel i had picked out was full, so asked a taxi driver to suggest an hotel, he said 5*, he drove me to Aro Palace , the taxi fare was 4 Lei [80p] the Aro Palace room was 460 Lei [ £ 94]. Hotels in Romania appear to be expensive with few budget prices. The Aro Palace lived up to its luxury ideal. Large room with good view. Good breakfast. Enjoyed my stay. Situated in old town area.

Aro Palace Hotel is a 4 star hotel. Accommodation in single or double rooms, suites, flats. The hotel is situated in the very center of the ancient town. Accommodation offers include 15 suites, 262 double rooms, 30 singles. Furnished in good taste, offering all the comfort that the four star level requires (room-bar, video-circuit, satellite TV, telephone, radio and room-service), the rooms provide a pleasant atmosphere. Services provided by the Aro Complex: offers Romanian and international cuisine restaurant, Italian restaurant, night bar, daytime bar, garden restaurant, breakfast lounge, conference hall, tourist information office, parking area, hairdressers saloon, casino.

The biggest hotel in Brasov
Whenever important people visited Brasov, they stayed at this hotel. The rooms were rumored to be bugged during Romania's communist days. It is now undergoing a major renovation as it started to lose business to the growing number of boutique hotels opening up in Brasov.
Unique Quality: Being Brasov's biggest hotel, it has a reputation to uphold.

Hotel Aro Palace
We were here with a tour group for two nights week before last and the hotel has been very nicely renovated. The rooms are modern, nicely furnished, quiet, clean, and the air conditioning worked well. Major renovations are still in progress but did not inconvenience us at all. It's a nice place

A 4 stars, but not that nice...
The furniture is very old and not so comfortable. As for the walls, they are so thin, you hear everything... so it's quite noisy!!!
Unique Quality: Well situated, it's direct in the Center, in front of Central Park, beside Piata Sfatului.

well, how much money do you HAVE?
A dimly lit unreconstructed lobby frames a pair of burly but well-dressed hotel receptionists. Do you have room? Yes -burly apparatchik points to sign. The depressing atmosphere is enhanced by the price: a mere 3,000,000 lei per night, $90, 120 euros; a rip-off.
Unique Quality: This hotel is a boon for Cold War history buffs, a living fossil of communist era In-tourist style hotels.

Never again.
I've been here once and I won't book there a room again.
It is expensive. Not clean and old.
Little plus:
The breakfast was okey and the view over Brasov.
I had much better hotels in Brasov which are almost just half of the price:
Pension Kronstadt, Zur Warte, Hotel Bielmann.
Unique Quality: Some of my experiences:
Old matrasses (probably older then me myself)
Hairs in the bed from former hotel guests,
A window which couldn't be closed.
Hot water after about 2 minutes waiting, while cold water was running out of the tap.
Old carpet, which was probably as old as the matress.
Plus a very undefined smell out of the bathroom.
And all that for 80 Euros - plus 4 percent in case you want to pay with credit card. (You have to consider that in Romania the average monthly (!) salary is about 200 Euro)
