An excellent Hotel
by dracul_wamphyri about Hotel Alpin
A top class hotel, one of the best we've stayed in. The food is marvellous with plenty to choose from. Vegetables aren't like anything we get back at home - they have flavour! Service is very professional and, the bar is open all night. Also a good choice if you have children. Highly recommended. There is a pool (although this was closed for refurbishment whilst we were there. Rooms are comfortable and of a high standard. Views are awesome as the hotel is situated high on a hillside.

"Bucharest Airport"
After travelling through Heathrow, this airport is tiny by comparison. Expect to be hounded by people asking if you require a taxi - it seems a common occurance over there! We were met by a mini bus driver, as this was a "package" holiday, it was part of the deal. Luckily too, as the resort we were staying in was a long way from Bucharest - a few hours drive!
One of the first things that surprised us was, the airport is in the capital city, yet some of the roads were hardly the type you'd expect to find in a small country village, potholes a plenty!
"The"
"Poiana Brasov"
Pronounced "pwana brashov", this town is situated high in the Carpathian Mountains. Primarily a ski resort, it caters for the non-sporty tourists in the warmer months. Our hotel (Alpin) was situated quite high up in the town, giving an excellent view from our bedroom window.
The hotel was one of the best we've ever stayed in whilst holidaying, we were travelling with our youngster and our room had an annexe which was a single bedded room for a child.
The picture attached shows the view from our hotel window, as we were on the top floor, this was quite spectacular.
