Pensiunea Gentiana is located in the small village Bradet just after Sacele - little town, east of Brasov. We found really good offer from a group buying website for only 45 EUR we had 2 nights including breakfasts and dinners and sauna.
Anyway, the hotel was renovated everything was in wood, the rooms were big and the sauna was really good experience (by the way only we used the sauna).
In the restaurant they served delicious food and the staff was nice except one thing - the waiter tried to lie us about the bill. I had to go to him twice and write down everything we consumed to proove him that he had added almost about 30 lei more to the final check. He tried to invent different things to escape but finally we paid what we ordered. On the next day he came to exuse us sayng that something had happend with the system. I didn't belive him but at least he excused.
Excluding this - it was all fine. Even they had ponies but it was too cold to ride
The hotel is good, clean. The rooms are big enough, everything was fine and the receptionist (who was probably the owner) was also very kind and smile. The hotel locks the door about midnight but you can dial the mobile numbers written at the front door and they'll come to open the door.
The negative part was that it was smelling of alcohol at the reception.
We bought a room with 50% discount from booking.com and the room cost us only 16 EUR for both :)))
The hotel is also in nice neighbourhood - 30min from the city center but you can easily take a bus or taxi (they're really cheap in Romania - about 0.30 EUR/km)
Situated on the side of Warthe hill, just above the White Tower overlooking the medieval city, this is a great getaway from the crowds below, and only a few minutes up the hill... albeit a very steep hike. The rooms are big, clean and comfy, the location is very quiet, the owner and staff are very friendly and knowledgeable.
Not everything was perfect. There's supposed to be wireless internet, but I couldn't get it working while I was there. I would have prefered the views from the upper floors, so you should ask for these rooms when you make a reservation. The breakfast was the same thing every day, and you got no choice.
But in all it was very good value for money, and the rates are negotiable.
One thing you should note: it's quite easy to find once you know where it is. But it's in a bit of an odd location that most of the taxi drivers were scratching their heads. Make sure you take a map with you to point out its location, or just ask to be dropped off at the White Tower (they all know where that is). The hotel is just a short walk from there up a private road.
It's painted the colour of chocolate limes.
The Garden Club is located outside the city, at a distance of 1 km and 260 meters on the national road DN13 Brasov - Sighisoara. The host is so perfect for guests, as well as for officials, tourism groups, business people and guests of Braşov. The complex will provide a hotel, restaurant, tents for events, a garden, a swimming pool and discovered an unforgettable atmosphere.

Pool, quiet place, garden , good food
I have had a wonderful stay in Hotel Montclaire last winter. The hotel is actually a wonderful villa situated in the outskirts of Brasov. There are not a lot of rooms inside, but all of them are very nice equipped.
There is a swimming pool available with very warm water, a small fitness room and a steam sauna inside the hotel. Small buffet breakfast is also available. There is also a fax available and its number is: +40368408818
I was informed about this private accomodation inside the train before arriving at Brasov. When in the train station, Grig (Maria's husband) came to me offering accomodation.
I must say these people are very kind, honest and offer good, clean and safe accomodation for a very good price. For them security of their guest is very important.
I stayed in a single room located in a apartment. This flat was shared with other foreigners and everything was in order, includind the daily cleaning of the apartment.
If you want to really experience the city and to know the people, consider spending the night in one of the many pensions in town. The web site below provides lots of options for you to consider:
I wanted to stay in a hotel close to the Old City Center and one of my friends gave me great reviews on Hotel AdaBelle. I was so happy I have chose this hotel! The location could not be more perfect, the prices are great (lower than what you would expect to pay for a hotel in a city center). The room price includes the breakfast and the dinner too, which is a very nice touch especially if you are too tired and you do not feel like eating out after a long day of walking! The hotel personnel could not be more friendlier and they do speak English, so nothing to worry about if you are a foreigner and you do not understand Romanian.
There is a very nice terrace outside where you can eat breakfast and dinner if you want to, but since I was there in December this was not a viable option for me :)
I could not say enough about this place and I will definitely stay here again if I decide to go back to Brasov and spend the night.
Ever since I discovered this hotel in Poiana Brasov resort, every time I return in the area, this is the place I stay.
This wonderful 4 star hotel is designed as a replica of Bran Castle, and the entire decorations inside give a medieval feeling to it all. It is located far from any noise, surrounded by the woods and far from any disturbing noises. From some of the rooms you have a wonderful view of the Postavaru mountain. Some of the rooms offer balconies, and terraces which upod request you can have dinner on.
The rooms are always impecable, offering everything possible, such as minibar, internet, bathrobe, very nice shampoos and body lotions etc.
They are very atentive to details, and the service is excelent.
The hotel restaurant has the best food I ever ate anywhere in the world. The chef is a very young german man, and he does know his way with the food and the ingredients.
For me this place gets a triple A++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
The prices per room, are 90 euro for a single with breakfast included, and so on...
Spa, View, Location, The Food, Great Service.
We rented a flat with bathroom, kitchen and large sitting room for a weekend. Much more flexible than a hotel or pension. It wasn't far from the main square and was in a typical old house.
I stayed in Rinda Reiss's room for 3 nights and it was great. The room is very confortable, clean and quiet. And it is right close to the center of the city. It "the home away from home" like Rinda described it. And it's one of the cheapest in Brasov, only 30 euros per room (with 2 beds).
Adabelle hotel is very centrally located in the old centre of the city. The three star hotel has 8 single and 12 double rooms with cable TV, phone and shower. The hotel also has got 4 rooms with TV cable and shared bathrooms.Breakfast and dinner are included.
Located on the main strada in Brasov the place exudes a lost grand splendour. Its Germanic architecture like most of Brasov is grand. Its inside is clean and well kept but needs a bit of money thrown at it. The rooms are spacious and feel like a world-war II Ann Frank replica. The views over Brasov and Mount Postavarul are unbeatable..good value...great location
Many Romanians have taken capitalism to heart, earning a living in the most unconventional ways. Maria Bolea and her husband Grig are no different. My first time in Brasov I was approached by Maria outside the train station. I brushed her aside as I thought she was trying to con me out of my passport and wallet. But she wouldn't stop talking. Finally, I looked at her notebook which had notes from fellow travelers praising her services. She even showed me the guidebooks in which her name is mentioned. Somehow, Maria learned to speak Japanese and is mentioned in a Japanese travel book. She speaks many languages and if you ignore her, as I originally did, you will hear all of them.
I finally gave in and rented a room from her. I paid 10 Euro each night for a private room above a house in the residential section of Brasov. The next time I came to Brasov I rented a room from her in an apartment building for the same price. There were other tourists staying in the apartment, but we each had our own room.
If you are on a tight budget, Maria is a good option. She has many connections in Brasov and can arrange for a driver to take you to Bran and Rasnov castles. When I stayed in one of her rooms, she had a driver take myself and five other tourists to these sights in a van.
Maria says there is a "fake Maria" taking advantage of her good reputation, but I never saw anyone beside her and her husband offering such services at the train station.
This is a small place run by a Hungarian speaking couple. The rooms are basic but clean and the price is great.
The Beke's were great people. When I was there I was joined by a couple from Spokane WA that made their own wine. When they were able to communicate to the Beke's of this Mrs. Beke brought out a bottle of wine that they made from their vines.
