Tours to Istanbul from Cluj Napoca

by finelogs

My husband and I will be in Cluj Napoca for a couple weeks. We are wondering if there are local tour companies that can arrange a quick 2 day tour to see the Hagia Sophia/Blue Mosque in Turkey? Would we have better luck with locating a tour from another city - such as Bucharest?

Thanks for reading and any help!

Nancy

Sorry but its going to take you two days to get there and back, you might be better to look at blue air flights from Bucharest to Istanbul and an internal flight from Cluj to Bucharest. But not an easy thing to do.
Youd be better of coming to visit us in Maramures.

Romanian tour companies and airlines are hellishly expensive, but if that's not an issue for you, then the earlier advice about flying to Bucharest and then onwards is probably the best. It's almost cheaper to fly back to the UK on Wizzair and then fly out to Istanbul...

Travel Tips for Cluj-Napoca

Lake city

by DPando

This spot is the most attractive or one of the most in the wholle city... surrounded by nice trees and a garden it gets a small but cosy palace that it should be open in summer (not in october when i was there) and should be a restaurant or a picnic spot...
its in the east part of the city closer to the center and side by side to the river..by the way not much trimmed!!!

Speleology Museum

by Taffi

It's tucked away in a small corner, but nevertheless worth visiting for those who are interested in the history of speleology. The museum documents the life and work of Emil Racovita, an explorer who went on an expedition to Antarctica, and it is located in the former city gaol.

Off E. Zola street; ask directions to hotel Fulton.

Good pizza / pasta

by bonio about Gente senior

Smarter inside than many pizza restaurants I've visited and food equally good.
Large tasty pizza for me, pasta aglio ollio for Mrs B who even found room for chocolate pancakes as well.
Enjoyed our meal here.

Central Park - Parcul Central

by Aitana

Central Park is a large public, urban park, on the shore of Somesul Mic River, in the central district of Cluj-Napoca. It was founded in the 19th century. The Park is now home to the University of Arts and Design and to the Chemistry Faculty of the Babes-Bolyai University.

Botanical Garden: Greenhouses

by Aitana

In the Botanical Garden there are several greenhouses where exotic species are grown. There are equatorial, tropical and subtropical plants. There are palm trees from different origins, some of them very tall, reaching the glass roof; many samples of Australian flora; Mediterranean plants, orchids, ferns, etc.
