Trip to Albac
by Aitana
Our friend and cicerone and her father prepared an excursion for us.
From Cluj-Napoca we took E-81 road to Turda, then road no. 75, following the river Aries. We passed Baia de Aries and Campeni, then Vadu Motilor and Albac. The intention was to cross Apuseni mountains and visit lakes Belis and Gilau on the way back to Cluj-Napoca.
At Albac, we changed our plans. Our friends have some friends there and we visited them. They welcomed us and offered their hospitality, inviting all of us to lunch. This was our best opportunity to try the local hand-made cuisine. They also showed us their house and their farm.
They rule a rural hotel, Pensiunea Lucica (see my tip on Judetul Alba).
Explore Cluj-Napoca by public transport
by HORSCHECK
Cluj-Napoca's public transport system consists of buses, trolleybuses and trams.
We only used the trams, which cover the route along Hora Street between the city centre and the train station.
Tickets can be purchased from kiosks and cost 3 RON (2008) for two journeys. One half of the ticket has to be punched in the vehicle as soon as you board it.

The Reformed church is situated on the Kogalniceanu Street and is called, also The Reformed Matthias church.
In the year 1486, it was begun as Minorits cloister church.
Later, it was handed over to the Jesuits.
In the year 1603, it was strongly damaged, because of the disputes between the Catholics.
Middle of the seventeenth century, the church was reconstructed.
The statue of St. George stands in front of the church.
