Modern hotel outside of Cluj-Napoca
This is a recently built, modern hotel I stayed at for a few days. The rooms are nice and spacious, clean (with minor exceptions), breakfast is pretty OK, service also OK. I went to the hotel restaurant once for dinner, but wasn't very excited about it - it was not that cheap, but not that good either. Internet access in the rooms is included in the price (wired; no HTTP proxy, VPN connections work fine).
The big disadvantage for business travellers: this hotel is NOT in a central location, quite the opposite! It's situated in a residential area close to a forest outside of Cluj-Napoca. While that may be nice for holidays, and certainly means there's no street noise to complain about, you're forced to use a taxi for each trip to and from town (costs about 16-18 RON, some 10-20 minutes' drive depending on traffic). As far as I could see, there are no shops, restaurants or anything in walking distance.
