Museum Fees

by mirchica

Hi guys,

I'm going to Constanta for a day trip at the end of July. Can anybody tell me how much are the entrance fees for the museums(the historical, navy and art ones) and if there is a Free day museum there? Also I'm interested in the Dolphinarium?

I read many tips about Constanta, but I'm open to any recommendations:))

Thanks in advance
Mira

Re: Museum Fees

Hi, Mira.

I called the Art Museum in Constanta (82-84 Tomis Bvd)and the entrance fee is 9 lei (4,17 leva I suppose). No luck at the marine museum but the fee can't be much higher.

The Dolphinarium, (255 Mamaia Bvd) has a 9 lei fee as well and the demnstrations take place at 11 AM, 3 PM and 7 PM.

The Planetarium (fee: 10 lei), acquarim (close to the Casino, on 1 Elisabeta Bvd, entrance fee: 14 lei), microreservation (4 lei) and exotic birds (3 lei) sections are opened between 8 AM and 8 PM.

I hope this helps.

Delia

Travel Tips for Constanta

The Casino - built in 1909...

by irinuca

The Casino - built in 1909 was inaugurated in August 1910; the designs were made by the French architect Daniel Renard (first design was made in 1903; in 1905, the architect Petre Antonescu made the second design - but the first one was chosen). The building has been the most representative in town for decades, a real symbol for Constanta; it was also the only representative of \'art nouveau\' style in Romania. On the top of the building, the decorations consists of old ships representations (ram heads and alga garlands); inside there are staircases and imposing banisters, covered columns and marble girdles on the walls. In 1985-1987 the building was restored, the furniture was entirely changed. When i'm not in Constanta i miss the aer is a little bit salty aer becouse of the sea.But to fell that you must come and visit this city and you'll not regreted.

Orthodox Cathedral "Saints Paul and Peter"

by Nobbe

Built in 1883-1885 by the designs of the architect Ion Mincu.

The church has got an imposing tower 35 meters high. The architect respected the characteristics of traditional Romanian architecture. The sculpture is very well represented in iconostasis and pews, chandeliers and candlesticks (bronze and brass alloy) that were designed by Ion Mincu and made in Paris. The indoor is clubs form like (typical Romanian element) and there are large archways and cupolas, the nave and forenave.
