regimhotelier-iasi: Apartment rental in Iasi
I was in Iasi to attend a friend's wedding . I tried booking using the form on the web page and by email but I got no reply from either . in the end my friend telephoned to make the booking. The apartment was near Piata Unirii. I had to pay in case up front for a two room apartment. It was 180 euro for 5 nights. The apartment was missing many of the facilities advertised. The landlord just shrugged his shoulders when I pointed this out to him and had no interest in resolving the issues or offering a refund. I would not recommend this accommodation website. I have stayed in many different places around he world and I regret to say this is the worst.

It's a camping with little house of wood with double-bedded , bowling possibility, terrace.
There is no running water but is a draw well (two).
From there may be view an amazing panoramic view of Iasi city.

Traian: Slow to heat glory
I got quite a spacious double room which has slighty out-of-date furniture but in good state. This is probably to add to the image of the hotel being old, as it was appearantly designed by Eiffel (yes, of the tower in Paris). The bathroom looks absolutely good, with an adequate shower, but... be patient when you want to take one, as it takes minutes for the water to heat up. Only after my second complaint the water heated up faster in the morning.
They are doing some renovation on the building as well as on the square it is located on (Piata Unirii), so the entrance is in hotel Astoria, which is in the same building.
Breakfast is fine, although the orange juice is not that juicy, which I think is bad for a hotel with four stars. But for these prices it's definately good.
Located in the building is the London pub, which also has 'approachable women' sometimes.

Hotel Traian: Old renovated hotel in a great location
I didn't stay at this hotel but it's famous in Iasi, being one of the oldest renovated hotels.

Hotel Traian: I'm not sure what else is available, but...
I have only visited Iasi once (so far) and I stayed at the Hotel Traian, designed by Gustave Eiffel--yes, that Eiffel--but not as a hotel. A pleasant place, though I appreciated it mostly for its location; it has no doubt seen better days. Everything that I saw was in walking distance of this centrally located hotel. Having said that, I am not sure that the competition is any better. The guidebooks don't give much room for optimism. The Traian was certainly clean and more than sufficient. It was simply not the kind of place where you'd want to spend all your spare time. Read my travelogue for a few more comments, but all in all, a reasonably priced, excellently located hotel.
