Hotel Central is probably the oldest building in downtown Ploiesti. The southern wing of the hotel has recently underwent a face lift due to a fire and renovation project. The south wing rooms are modern but smaller. The north rooms are older, more spartan, but spacious. I stayed here for over 10 weeks due to a contracted negotiation. In all my stay, I moved rooms a few times because something was constantly breaking. In the end I had to fix many light fixtures, the toilet, sink, floor drain on my own because the hotel staff was not cooperative. The reception staff was completely uncooperative, unsocial and the hotel security offended many of my guests by calling the women prostitutes. I lived in Ploiesti for over 4 months, and before that I visited several times. I stayed in 6 or 7 different hotels in the city. Hotel Turist is an old hotel, but just recieved a lovely make over in the lobby/reception. Some of the staff is fluent in ~5 languages, very social and helpful. They assisted me on many odd requests and were more than curteous while doing so. The rooms are comfortable, the breakfast and dinner meals were excellent and the hotel is walking distance of nearly everything in Ploiesti. Even though it has more than 300,000 inhabitants, it is not quite a tourist attraction, and perhaps this is the reason why there are just a few hotels here. The other problem is that they are almost fully bookes all the time. We had some friends visiting us a couple of times, and we were not able to find them accomodation. So, mu advice is to book in advance if you are planning to stay here.
Unfortunately, none of this hotels has a pool or a tennis court or something like that.. Theme: HotelPrice: US$20-40 » Currency ConverterComparison: about averageDirections: Central area

Terrible, Terrible, terrible. See several other write ups for this hotel, they say it is good, but Different people somehow manage to write several paragraphs using EXactly the same words, I know now, havingre-checked and wondered why it had changed so much from good to worst possible. The good write ups are a scam by one person not several.
Its unique quality is only that there is no quality. Theme: HotelPrice: US$40-80 » Currency ConverterComparison: about averageAddress: near centrePhone: 111111111Directions: centre

This is a nice hotel. Quiet, clean, staffs are firendly, cheap, they can speak english, they wont gonna bother u at all. Not so far from McDonanlds. I think is abt 10 mins walk! The room service is satisfactory. They change the towels, clean the bathroom, tidy up ur room. There are difference prices. On my room, i had two single bed. There is a fridge for u. so u can put ur drinks or food whatever u like. The price is abt £30-£40 p/n. So i thinks its quiet affordable. And if u want to go to the city centre then just ask the hotel receiption to get u a taxi. They will arrange for u immediately & in 10mins, u will be there. taxi costs between £2-£3. Thank you...

The Hotel Prahova is a reasonably priced place to stay if you want a bed. When I stayed there, I had a room with a double bed and bathroom. The cost is going to be about $14/20 a night. And there is a quiet restaurant downstairs. This isn't the Sheraton Hotel!!
If you get a room on one of the higher floors, you get an excellent view of the city and of the the oil refineries that "flare" gas at night. If you arrive at Gara de Sud, take the #30 or #44 bus till you get downtown. Get off the bus and walk east on one of the side streets on the sides of Mcdonald's. You can miss it!!!

Theme: HotelPrice: US$20-40 » Currency ConverterComparison: about averageAddress: Soseaua Vestului

by steffen100 If you're looking for a nice place to be and feel at home in the industrial city of Ploiesti, Hanul Gazarilor is THE PLACE TO BE ! Lovely decorated rooms, a bit small, but with all comfort, very good service and the best kitchen in town for a reasonable price. They have an excellent mixture of tradition an d international flair. You can sit on the terrace and watch a romanian wedding or enjoy a talk with other guests from different countries. The service is very good, and especially the traditional dressed waitresses are just great!
They have wireless internet connection in the house, a massage saloon and a finnish sauna. Theme: HotelPrice: US$20-40 » Currency ConverterComparison: less expensive than averageAddress: Mihai Bravu 45 street, PloiestiPhone: 0040244597577Directions: CentreWebsite: www.rotaru.com.ro
