Terrible, Terrible, terrible.
See several other write ups for this hotel, they say it is good, but Different people somehow manage to write several paragraphs using EXactly the same words, I know now, havingre-checked and wondered why it had changed so much from good to worst possible. The good write ups are a scam by one person not several.

If you're looking for a nice place to be and feel at home in the industrial city of Ploiesti, Hanul Gazarilor is THE PLACE TO BE ! Lovely decorated rooms, a bit small, but with all comfort, very good service and the best kitchen in town for a reasonable price. They have an excellent mixture of tradition an d international flair. You can sit on the terrace and watch a romanian wedding or enjoy a talk with other guests from different countries. The service is very good, and especially the traditional dressed waitresses are just great!
Unique Quality: They have wireless internet connection in the house, a massage saloon and a finnish sauna.

Hi, im form uk & will be attending a relatives wedding (i dont think it is a traditional one) as best man in Ploesiti later this summer. A couple of questions:
1) What are Romanian Weddings like - are there any local customs/traditions I need to be aware of.
2)Do best men normally make a speech & is there anything i should / shouldnt say (I've not arranged translation yet !)
3)Is there anywhere to go for a stage night in Ploeisti ?
4)Are credit cards accepted in Ploesti & are ther plenty of ATMs ?
5)What are the best buys ?
6)Any other help ?

On my Romania page, I made tip about the wedding tradition of 'kidnapping' the bride. ATM's are available in the city center of Ploiesti. Most hotels and restaurants there also take credit, unfortunately most bars typically only take cash.
My favorite thing about Ploiesti is that it is just a short distance away from Bucharest. I can take an hour maxi-taxi or train trip to Bucharest and spend the day in the capital just hanging out. For a traveler, the hotels are going to be cheaper here than in Bucharest. I recommend having a hotel room in Ploiesti and taking the maxi-taxi into Bucharest in order to save a few dollars. Well, I am still living here so I don't have any memories of the place.
When people visit Ploiesti they usually miss the most important thing :The Clock Museum , which is hide somewhere on a small street , an the most beautiful street in Ploiesti . This street is called Praga . It is a very peacefull place. the best time to walk on this street is the night , when you'll admire old houses and big trees on the felinar's light.
Sorry but for the moment all my memories about Ploiesti are related to a very good friend of mine wedding & my driving experiences from Bucharest to Brasov ...

I could recall a hotel without many standards met but where we had a great time..
