In Sibiu, you don't need more than good shoes and a city map.
And don't forget that people here are very polite, or at least they are trying hard to be.
Help them, being at least as polite as they are ;) A good camera is a MUST in Sibiu, especially for the old architecture lovers. Our photos will help you understand why I am saying so. Don't forget to prepare the "to do" list before your trip here, especially if you don’t have enough time to discover them.
Otherwise you'll feel (like us) that you lost a lot of interesting places.
The Catholic Church - Interior

With its gold-laced walls and colourful ceiling frescoes the interior is totally renovated. Intricate stone carvings cover much of the nave and the side altars and colonnades of pink marble.
Inside the church is the stone grave of Otto Ferdinand de Abensberg, commander of Transylvania between 1744-1747.
Organ recitals are usually held once a week.
Piata Huet-Huet Square-Sibiu

That small Square is located between the Lutheran Cathedral and few beautiful houses, with such a different architecture that shocks me.
In one side is the huge Gothic Cathedral and on the other side, few houses coming from different styles and cultures, from the traditional Romanian one to the “Casa Luxembourg”, unfortunately not so well preserved.

The council tower at Piata Mare is a great place to get a superb view of the city center of Sibiu, as you can see on the picture. Entrance fee is next to nothing (5000Lei, 0.2€) so you'd be very stupid not to see it.
THE COUNCIL TOWER

The symbol of Sibiu,stands in front of your eyes like a testimony of ancient times.Built between 1224-1241, its purpose was to protect the gateway into the second fortification belt; partially collapsed it was reconstructed in 1586-1588.During centuries ,the tower was used as jail , corn storehouse and before 1989 as museum.At the last floor you can enjoy a panoramic wiew over the city ,and not only: the hole plane to the mountain opens in front of you.In the sunny days you feel that you almost touch the mountains.
