Hotel Silva is in a Swiss-chalet style building overlooking a park. It wasn't my first choice, but all of the hotels in the city centre were full as there was a big conference taking place that weekend. I think it is a little bit too far from the city centre and the main tourist attractions for my liking, but it is OK and a bit cheaper than the big hotels in the centre. The rooms are small and simply furnished and an adequate breakfast is served in the hotel's small restaurant. The staff are very helpful and friendly.
I paid 205 lei for a single room with breakfast included.
Silva Hotel used to be my favourite hotel for staying in Sibiu because of it's quiet setting, in the Park called Sub Arini - in which you can have relaxing walk or stay on a bench after a day visiting Sibiu.
Walking distance to Piata Mare is like 20-30 minutes.
Nice rooms, balconies facing the park - and the football stadium (but there are rarely any games), parking in front of the hotel
