Evangelical Church
by Dabs
We seemed to time our visits to the Evangelical Church badly, the first time we wandered in it was close to closing time and then when we went back it was shortly before services were to start.
We did get a good look around the church including the four baroque funerary monuments on the upper nave and the 6002 pipe organ (Romania's largest) but we missed out on visiting the cathedral tower for the view over the city and seeing the tomb of Mihnea the Bad, the son of Dracula, which is either in the crypt (Rough Guide) or in a closed off section behind the organ (Lonely Planet). He was stabbed to death outside the church in 1510 when it was still a Catholic church.
The church was built between 1320 and 1520.
There is a certain metal...
by bluecat
There is a certain metal bridge named The Bridge of the Liars.
It is unique by its legend. It is said that if you say a lie when you walk on this bridge then you will fall of it. It is a very high bridge raised over a road so ... I tell you you won't want to fall off this one!

Huet Sqare
by iwys
Huet Square is the third of Sibiu's town squares. It is dominated by the Evangelical Cathedral.
Another notable building is the Brukenthal High School, dating back to 1380 when it was the Old German School and oldest school in Romania. The current building was built in 1786 and was named after the Governor of Transylvania from 1777 to 1787, Samuel of Brukenthal. In front of the school is the nineteenth century statue of George Daniel Teutsch, Bishop of Sibiu.
Facing the north side of the cathedral at No 1 is the parochial house with a Gothic entrance of interlaced stone, carved in 1502 by Andreas Lapisida.
