Romanic church
by xaver
This romanic church is just a few minuts of walking from the centre but I found it totally ignored by tourists. To get there leave the cathedral of Victory square on your right and just go streaight on, cross the bridge and keep going untill you arrive in Balcescu square. I could not find so many information about this church, the lady at tourism officfe could just tell me it was built at the beginning of 20 century.
The Victory Square
by edvin_br
The Victory square is the heart of Timisoara. Is is the biggest square in the city and in my opinion the most beautiful too. In one side there is the Metropolin Cathedral and in the other end the Opera. There are also a lot of shops, restaurants, statues, fountains and also some small parks.
My home for 4 years

I came to Timisoara to study at the local university. During the four years I stood there I grew to love this city for its great architecture, great people and general attitude of the city as a whole. Timisoara is a melting pot -you'll find romanians, hungarians, germans, serbs, romas, bulgarians, greeks, arabs, jews here - all living together peacefully.
Timisoara also is one of the best developing city in this country economically - the fact that it's close to the western border helps a lot, but also the positive attitude of the local authorities and the fact that bureaucracy is discouraged. They've got factories that make Coca Cola, mobiles, detergents, shoes, furniture, etc - no wonder this city has got one of the lowest unemployment rates .
But Timisoara not only knows how to work, but also how to party! Its inhabitants love to hold festivals - they've got a festival of beer, one of the wine, one of the roses, one of friendship , a drum and bass festival - and each time people get together, sing with the bands and generally party their asses off until midnight. (or later).
