cheile gradistei holiday complex: Moeciu de sus, do not stay here

Booked ahead, was given poor room, dirty, had not been fully prepared since previous guest, pretty shabby anyway. Got 2 more rooms, accepted 3rd, with broken furniture, very dirty bathroom, claggy carpet, raggy curtains, was not nice.
Staff very unhelpful, in fact a raging argument took place at reception while we checked in, another guy was not prepared to pay for the room he was allocated.
Pool was dirty, restuarant was dirty, food was very poor. again staff in restaurant surly disinterested unhelpful and very slow. Smoking was encouraged with no air extraction, we asked for non smoking and were put in an annex room where waiters did not like to visit, our request seemed to take everybody by surprise (non smokers are a nuisance in Romania).
This is a "has been" resort probably ok in early days but now has become rundown and nobody cares. DO NOT STAY.
The area is lovely, but full of low grade facilities, stay in Brasov and travel the 30 km to Bran castle, allow 2 hours in the castle, avaid the adjacent market it is full of rubbish.

Website gives good description of the day the place opened, do not expect it to be nice now, it is far from it.

Great views, lovely countryside, when you find a place to stop that is not full of garbage, the locals really do not care where they dump refuse.

Casa Dragoslovean: A very nice Pensiunea in Moeciu de Sus

Our stay in Casa Dragoslovean was fantastic, I have to say.
2 days accomodation and full board came to 1,900,000 lei only ! (about 31 GBP).
Come on, when have you slept and ate this nice in the UK for this price??
All the food in the house is locally grown, milk is from the cows of the family owned farm and the owners are extremely friendly.

The accomodation is outstanding, for this price.
We had our own apartment recently made, all wooden with our little dinning room and a really nice bedroom.

The views were really beautiful from our room and it is very close to several very interesting hiking trails.
