i was recommended this place by a friendly local after getting off the train with nowhere to stay (again).
monika is your friendly host, and she will act as cook, guide, interpreter during your stay. her food is divine, her english is perfect, and she's listed in the yha book and i think the lonely planet now as well. if in doubt check out her website below.
she organised a car for me, took me to remote monastaries and pottery workshops, explained the stories behind buildings and frescos and was an all round gem!
she even has local women create patches for your pack.
she still keeps in touch with me, lets me know when she's travelling out my way and even contacted me to let me know when the hostel moved and developed its website.
