Maxitaxi minibus services depart two or three times daily from Autogară Diego for Ruse, about 3-4 hours journey, but I've no up to date info regards schedules. I think there's also a Bulgarian minibus which runs twice daily but have no idea where that goes from.

If you are in Bucuresti at the moment your best bet would be to go to the bus station and enquire there.

A Bulgarian bus leaves from Piata Unirii near Hotel Horoscop twice a day at 10:30am and 4:15pm. Do inquire around the square where exactly the bus stops and so on, because a friend used it and said that it's a mess there, considering that the square is also a major traffic junction. The price is 20 Bulgarian leva, so it makes around 10 Romanian lei.

Good luck and have a nice time in Ruse

as Venelin mention the bus leaves from piata unirii at front of the Horoscop hotel, there is like parking area or you can found it at right side street if you stand with your bak to the hotel.
I use it but I came from ruse and the minibus stop as I mention in the parking area. few time I sow the minibus wait at the street side as I say, I use to live there a wile at frend house.
the price is around 10 euro or 40 lei + - [1euro almost 4 lei]

Travel Tips for Bucharest

Not so ugly at a closer look...

Ceaucescu's giant palace, now the Parliament House, may be evoking different reactions, but it sure is more pleasing to the eye when you look at some architectural details.

I was stunned to see the narrow arches and columns as a frequently repeated pattern in various types of secular buildings: the Parliament House, the National Theatre, the airport and many other. I guess I will always associate the narrow arches with Bucharest!

A Good Books Shop

by edvin_br

When you are walking along Calea Victoriei north to the Revolution square you will find a good books shop on a classical corner building, you should go inside, check if you like something... I bought 2 books about the city of Bucharest (both are in English), there is a lot of information about the history of the city and about the sights... There are other books in addition to tourists books, most of them are in Romanian i belive. The prices are not high at all, i bougght 2 good books for about 500000 Lei (15 Dollars).

Get your bus ticket before you board

by rambling_rose

Get your bus tickets from the little booths stationed near main groups of bus stops. It's a good idea to buy a set of 10, for example, as you'll inevitably find yourself getting on a bus where there's no booth in sight, or they've closed for the night. Also be careful about the time. Buses don't run very late, so if you're intending to go out eating, drinking or clubbing, make sure you keep cash aside for a taxi home.
