Transport Public

Ce linie de autobuz/maxi taxi ajunge de la aeroport la Bucuresti(Centru, Gara de Nord,Autogara)?La ce ore?

Re: Transport Public

by taseg

-autobuzele 131 si 301, care merg in centru (la piata Romana)- ambele circula cam intre 5AM fara ceva si 11PM;
-tramvaiul 5, care merge tot in centru (are capatul aproape de piata Unirii) - circula intre 5.30AM si 11PM;
-autobuzul 205, care merge la Gara de Nord - cam tot intre 5AM si 11PM functioneaza;

Travel Tips for Bucharest

Calea Victoriei

by draguza

Since the first decades of the 1800's, Calea Victoriei was the street that best signified the European ambitions of Bucharest. From the Senate Place up to Victoriei Square, swank hotels, luxurious shops and famed restaurants.

Supermarket mania

by codrutz

Another recent hobby for people - shopping at the Mall and the supermarkets. As you can see from this pictures, even married people with children can't help it :) This poor child is sleeping between the groceries :))

Supermarkets are crowded mostly in weekends from 10 to 7pm. Weekdays are better to go there.

Monastery from 1568 near Unirii sqare

by josephescu

Radu Voda Monastery – 1568

Within a 100m from Unirii square, hidden behind the concrete blocks which testify for the communist times, lies another orthodox monastery: Radu Voda, built in 1568. The monastery is isolated from its surroundings by a brick wall and a thick layer of trees. Entrance is opposite the oldest church in Bucharest (Bucur the Shepherd).
The church was built by the great grandson of Vlad Tepes (a.k.a. Dracula, as per Bram Stoker). The site also hosts a theology school. Don’t miss the paintings inside the church, the mosaique from the candles lighting site, the surrounding park, the tower and the ancient graves behind the tower.

Que la gente baile : Salsa Club

by Delia_Madalina about Salsa Club 3

Bucharest has been taken by storm by the salsa in recent years. If you want to practice your skills, beware: the girls here dance very well. The dancers nights are Thursday and Sunday (85 % salsa, 5 % bachata, meregue reggeton). If you just want to have fun on Latin music, you can go Friday and Saturday. There's an entrance fee of 5 Euros on Fridays and Saturdays and if you don't cope with the heat well, stay home: the nights are set on fire here. ;)
A beer is somewhere around 2,5 Euros , 1 mineral water 1,5 Euros.

Lately, salsa dancers prefer Sala 4 You club and the parties organized by the dancing schools. There isn't a dress code but you can't dance salsa in Sneakers, can you?

Aurel Vlaicu - Baneasa Airport

by Delia_Madalina

Surprisingly, Baneasa Airport ( Northern Bucharest) is better situated than the main international one, Henry Coanda, meaning that it's closer a.k.a. taxi price to downtown is lower ;)

The planes of low cost companies land here:
-Blue Air - flights to/from: Atena , Barcelona, Bologna, Brussels-South Charleroi, Cluj-Napoca, Cologne/Bonn, Cuneo, Istanbul-Ataturk, Lisbon , Lyon, Madrid, Malaga, Milan-Bergamo, Paris-Beauvais, Rome-Ciampino, Thessaloniki , Valencia, Verona
- My Air - Barcelona, Bari, Catania, Paris, Milan-Bergamo, Milan-Malpensa, Napole, Roma-Ciampino, Veneþia
- Wizz - Barcelona, Budapesta, Dortmund, Londra-Luton, Roma-Ciampino

Easy to be reached from any part of the city:
- the line 783 (From Piata Unirii/Unirii Square - Piata Romana/ Roman Square- Piata Victorie/ Victopry Square - Casa Presei Libere/ The House of Free Press - Baneasa Airport);
- across the street from the airport you can take: 301,131 to Piata Romana/ Roman Square and 205 to Gara de Nord (North Railway Station).
