1 word .. AWESOME. I have stayed in many hotels all over europe. I can honestly say this is the best hotel I every got, at the best price. And i stayed in places like the Dolphin Square hotel in London etc. Before i go on, i must say that i got lucky because i ordered the room 2 days prior to leaving,and got a 150 or smth room for 75€. I consider bucharest to be "pretty", but there aren't many new, modern (glass) buildings. So the hotel is nice and pretty in contrast. When you enter the nice automatic glass door, you will be greeted by a nice tight lounge area to the right, wit black leater couches, tight black furniture and flat screens. You will be greeted by one of the omni present pretty girls in bucharest on your left. She hands you your card and sends you on your way. Open the door and pop ur card in the holder inside the room, and the lights come on. In the "standard" room, you will find a nice designer bathroom, with a nice sink, lots of free stuff and a shower with a big glass door and glass wall. Hairdryer etc are present. The room itself has half dark red wallpaper, and black furniture. At each side of the bed you will find a tall closet with glass door. Lots of room for your stuff, including a vault and extra pillow etc. Above each bed you have one comparment, nicely built into the "half fake wall" between the bed and the wall. On top you will find a welcome package containing the usual and a nice big book about bucharest. There was also a book with bed time stories. The lights are built into the wall, but have a nice long arm,and can be moved as you wish. The phone is also in one of these compartiments. In front of the window you have a big black wall to wall table, with yet another welcome package, LAN and phone connection a nice lamp, and plenty of outlets. There is a also a tv with sattelite stations and a mini bar. On the first floor you can find a nice restaurant and lounge area, together with meeting rooms etc. The hotel is very well kept, and very very clean. The room makes you feel like you are the first one to use it. The hotel isn't very .. warm, if that is your thing ;-)
CAUTION !! : When you look on ANY map online, the hotel should be situated on Mircea Voda, SOUTH of the boulevard. This is WRONG. It is situated just north of the boulevard, also on micrea voda. It is very easy to find, you can see it from the boulevard. This location is actually better. The south is more .. residential. Since this higher location is closer to the centre, you can just use the street across from the hotel as a shortcut to the centre, insead of the boulevard. Use the boulevard if you wanna see nice big buildings and high end cars driving fast ;-)
