Mind out for the minibar...

I stayed in the Novotel, which stands in the city centre on the site of the former National Theatre, and is an Accor chain hotel. In homage to its past there is a replica of the historic entrance portal in front of the hotel. The hotel is classed as 4* and this would be a fair appraisal of it, given the fact that it has a pool, has well appointed rooms and there is a range of catering and other facilities available - restaurant, casino, swimming pool, fitness centre all included. I paid EUR 60 a night through a partner of trivago - a site I use a lot to compare prices for hotel rooms to ensure I get the best possible prices. The room was comfortable, well fitted out and the bathroom (both a bath and separate shower facilities and a separate WC).

Unique Quality: Location - very central and fine views from upper floors of the Palatul Parlamentui.

Recreating the old National Theatre facade

Built a few years ago, this hotel would be just another misplaced glass covered concrete box, unless they had recreated the facade of the old National Theatre in front of it. The National Theatre was built in 1859 and it was bombed by the US Air Force during WW2 (1944), a new theatre being built later on in University Square. The hotel provides well appointed rooms (even though I fail to see why a business travel - targeted hotel has two bathrooms in every room; they could have made rooms larger instead), a wide (and therefore welcome in Romania) lobby, and a nice terrace to the back. The breakfast area (also used as restaurant) is too small for the capacity of the hotel. The staff is polite and the general service of the hotel is very good.

Hello.

It is very nice that you decided to take your dog with you. Usually there are no problems regarding accommodation with a dog, but you do ahve tocheck at the hotel you're planning to stay if they allow dogs in. I found that
Ibis Bucuresti Palatul Parlamentului -82-84 Izvor street Bucharest and
Novotel Bucharest City Centre -37b Calea victorei Bucharest are two of the dog friendly hotels in Bucharest.
Also, make sure your dog has all the vaccines done for the trip to Delta. Your vet will surely know all about it.
Have fun!
