 | Sighisoara Sighisoara Reviews | 1 - 5 of 5 | | Having found this place on Virtual Tourist, how could I not sing its praises! Marius Adam has built 4 rooms next to his house, with a bathroom on each floor (he's got plans to build en suite bathrooms, so watch this space!). There's also an apartment in a separate building, even closer to Piata Cetatii, which he will be doing up soon. We shared a room for 3 and paid 28 Euros total per night. It was soooo much better to be staying somewhere quiet where you could come and go as you pleased, without hordes of school groups (who tend to fill up the hostals at this time of year - December). Marius went out of his way to make up comfortable and even invited us around to share some tuica, the local paint-stripper masquerading as an alcoholic drink. Even better, we had warm fuzzy feeling that we were contributing to the local people's endeavours to make the town's tourism their own. Or maybe it wa the tuica... Hotel Sighisoara looks good from outside. Can't really recommend it because I never stayed there, but I guess it's nice to stay but pretty expensive. Leave a Comment Theme: HotelComparison: more expensive than average

This hotel is centrally located right in the heart of the old town, just steps away from the main square. It would be a bit of a trek to get here from the train or bus station on foot since it is located at the top of the citadel but if you are driving, you can drive right up to the hotel. Our room was not facing the center of town but we had a really nice view over the tile roofs of the houses nearby and the mountains in the distance as well as the restaurant patio. The hotel's website listed below is in Romanian, couldn't find one in English
Room- was decorated with rustic furniture as was the common area of the hotel. The beds were very hard twin beds not pushed together and we had a couple of chairs in the room. The room was spacious, didn't watch any TV here but there was one in the room. The minibar was in a refrigerator you could use for outside purchases. bathroom-hot shower, toiletries included shampoo and soap, hair dryer We ate dinner at the hotel on the outdoor patio since it was included in our package, the food here was good. Breakfast is included in the hotel rate, it was the typical Romanian hotel buffet breakfast with eggs, meat, cheese, bread, cereal, juice, fruit and some not very exciting pastries. We had a 2nd floor room and had to use the stairs to get there so I don't think there was an elevator in this hotel although they did help me carry the luggage up. :-) Leave a Comment

The hotel we stayed in is a historic building, this was taken from the sign on the front of the hotel "In this house lived Georg Paul Binder, Bishop between 1843-1867. During the first half of the 20th century this building housed the town hall." Leave a Comment

My plans were to stay in Casa Legenda but I had a little disappointment with the reception that lead me to consider private accomodation in Sighisoara. The owner is one of those many ladies that will approach you when you are roaming around town. My advice is that you don't lose anything by coming with them to see the house.... and you might find that it is better value for money than some hotels. This was a newly built apartment attached to a local home in the very heart of the citadel. The rooms are big and the batrooms are inmaculate so, if you are looking for reasonably priced quality accomodation in a guesthouse do not hesitate to contact these people.
Good quality accomodation. Brand new bathrooms. Spacious and airy rooms.
