A must to try the metro. Had a wonderful ride there. Each individual station has it's own theme. It is beautifully design and very grand. My day escape to the red square via the metro. Almost gotten lost by loosing track of my tour guide. The train was going real fast and we have to switch the trains in quite a few stations in order to reach our destination. We are quite excited and nervous about it especially in a group of 20 people.
Moscow Weather
by Pablos_new
Most part of the year Moscow weather differs from Western and Central Europe. Due to its continental climate temperature varies from -20'C (sometimes -30 'C) in winter to +30 'C in summer time. Winter is rather long - from late October to April everything is covered with snow.
But that is not the worse thing. During autumn and winter time weather could change three times a day - sun and frost in the morning, raining and snow melting at day time and great snowfall in the evening.
The best time to be in Moscow - May...June and September...October (Golden Autumn).

Truthfully, Moscow's greatest asset and it's true jewel are it's people. Take the time to meet and talk with a few! The people you meet and the friends you make while you are here may well turn out to be the gems of your memories of your visit here! Well, this isn't really a memory, more of an observation after spending some time walking around the city and meeting alot of people.
There are severl different 'cultures' present in Moscow. There are the people that spent the majority of their adult life pre-perastroyka and tend to still be very conservative and look grim much of the time. There is a group that is much younger and has grown up after Gorbachev and these Moskovites are VERY European in dress, in personality and in style. Of course there is some overlap, but if you do come for a visit, tell me if you have noticed the same thing??
Elokhovskaya Orthodox Church - 2 -
by MrBill
I was lucky enough to go to the baptism of my godson in this church last Saturday. It was a beautiful, Fall day, and the weather was perfect for picture taking. I am not a member of the Russian Orthodox Church, so it was a rare chance for me to see their services and take part in one. It was a really special experience.
I have more photos than commentary, so please excuse my lack of comments. Thanks.
Packing List

Needless to say, if you go in the Winter, it can get bitterly cold. On a cold, windy day a hat and gloves are required. There will be lots of ice on the sidewalk, so boots may be in order. Summers can be quite hot, occasionally getting up to the mid-90s so bring some light clothing. It is recommended that you bring all of the documentation that goes with prescription drugs and be prepared to show it at Customs if necessary.
