Walking along Novy Arbat and Old Arbat. Great restaurants, bars, shopping and sightseeing. Just a few blocks from Red Square, The Whitehouse, Zoo and the river with its great river cruises (in summer). The continual excitement. Never a dull moment. History at every turn you make. A city of contrasts.

It was long time ago. One negotiant went to famous doctor with heavy headache. Doctor examined him and after pondering asked: "Where are your trade? In Kremlin? And what gates do you pass through, Borovitskie or Spasskie? So, clear, you should drive through other gate." Negotiant took that advice and headache stopped!

Georgian Food Part II

The dishes you see right here were also very good. The chicken is called Chicken Tabaka, which is fried in spices, using a heavy weight to press down on it. The meat emerges crispy and tasty. In the rear you see a dish of pork shashlik, a local favorite which many Russians also eat as their own food. This is nice and juicy, with larger chunks of meat than the kebabs most of us know, and much more hearty and filling. To the left is a dish of veal simmered in tomatoes and spices, I think with a touch of wine. Tender and tangy, this dish really hit the spot.
Moscow City Map
by HORSCHECK
I found it difficuIt to get a free detailed map of Moscow as the city doesn't have a Tourist Information Office. Most large hotels offer free maps, but these usually only concentrate on the very city centre.
Be prepared to feel completely lost without a proper map. So I recommend you to buy a detailed map in one of the large book shops or small kiosks of Moscow.
I bought the "Moscow today - City Map" which has street names in both Russian and English. Besides a big Moscow map it also includes a detailed city centre map, a street index and a metro map.
I bought the map at "Moskva Knigi" in the street ul. Tverskaya 8. The price was 47 Rubles (1,30 Euro, 2005).
