Worth to stay

Hotel is 15 minutes away from downtown (by metro), staff is polite, rooms are clean, there are few restaurants in the hotel, room service and check in are quite fast, big choice of tv channels, free wi-fi in the lobby.
If you need to exchange your money, you can do it in the hotel and rate is not much different from the one in the outside exchange offices.
To get to the downtown from hotel by taxi you will need aprox.150-200 ruble, to use metro you will need 50 ruble (return ticket).

If you have to ask . . .

Unique Quality: This place is swanky, and the only reason I stayed there was because it was on the company teat.

This is an important tip for a traveler to Moscow. The prices that some of the hotels charge are crazy. The Marriott chain has a Renaissance Hotel in Moscow. The normal rate for a room is about $500 US per day. I made the reservation online and put the name of a corporate client on the appropriate line. The rate went to $150USD per day. Much better. I was never asked to verify or even remember the corporate name once I arrived at the hotel. (they had the rate but not the affilliation)

The Rennaissance is a very nice hotel. The rooms are excellent by any standards. The food is, well, it looked good, tasted great and I got sicker than a dog twice. I am sure it was not normal. I did have a great pizza in the bar later in the week. The women in the bar were VERY friendly but I didn't get to know any of them.
$550 per day but with a corporate affiliation and an online booking - $150.00 per day.

More about Renaissance Moscow Hotel

Five Star Quality

by Mikebb about Renaissance Moscow Monarch Centre Hotel

The hotel was recently built and had been operating for 6 months prior to our stay. We were with a tour group and no one had any complaints about the accommodation. The rooms were extremely large, well furnished, good linen and cleaned to a high standard.

The breakfast restaurant provided a good breakfast together with plenty of seating during busy times.

On 2 nights we dined in the main restaurant, the first time a set meal provided by the tour operator, the second time I dined with my wife. The food was good and reasonably priced for a 5 star hotel. A totally new 5 star hotel.
