For me this hotel was a pleasant surprise. I reserved it with a very cheap price (30$ night+breakfest, and there was DBL room).
Good location (5 min to underground), very quiet district but close to the center.
And very clean and comfy rooms, and (could you imagine for Russia?????) free internet...
freandly staff and good breakfest.
So, next time will be stay there again. Highly recommended as price/quality hotel
When we arrive, there was fresh repairing made in our hotel rooms.
Nice hotel, clean and quiet rooms. IIn the hotel was restaurant, and a tiny souvenir shop.
Location wasn't the best. From city center there was driveing the marshrutka, what bring us to hotel.
It wasn't the difficult for us, because we speak and understand the russian language and behavior. I think for people, who isn't understand russian, and visiting the Russia first time, it is difficult ...
The Pribaltiyskaya was designed by Soviet achitect Baranov & built by Skanska of Sweden between 1972 & 1978, in other words in the latter part of the Soviet era & is a good example of modern Soviet architecture.
I recommend this hotel. I stayed for 2 nights in July, 1999 as part of a coach tour.
The hotel seems popular with firms doing coach tours, with coaches from as far away as Spain.
The hotel is (or was in 1999) Swedish-owned or managed.
The Pribaltiyskaya is located a good walk, taxi, underground, or bus ride from the city centre.
It is adjacent to a beach, by the Gulf of Finland.
The hotel is in a mainly residential area, so is a good place for checking out how ordinary Russians live.

My room had a view over the Gulf of Finland (what do you expect to see from the window of a Sankt Peterburg hotel? ...The hanging gardens of Babylon? ...Krakatoa erupting?).
In 1985 it was usual that there are posts at the entrance of any hotel, beeing allowed to foreign tourists.They could tell immideately, wheather we are tourists or not,they let in all tourists, all russians had to stay out. Inside these hotels all prices had been in $ or other foreign currencies. You had no chance with the local Rubel, that you maybe changed cheaply at the black market - and got 10 times as much as the ordinary rate !
