Hotel Ave Caesar

Good (3.0 of 5.0 stars)
by written on October 24, 2009

Nevsky 61, is an extension to mini hotels chain Ave Caesars in SPB. Nevsky 61, as understood from its name located on Russia's and SPB's most famous street, Nevsky. Not exactly on the street but located in the backyard of Nevsky Street. There are 8 rooms on the second floor of an old building, within 2 apartments across. Rooms are well decorated, clean and there is wi-fi. And that's it. There is nothing else in Nevsky 61. 2 old ladies are in charge in 2 shifts and they do not speak English. They also do not have credit card machine and they ask you to pay in cash. However, if you insist, credit card machine is brought from other Ave Caesar Hotels. The breakfast is served on one small table. Few bacons, cheese, bread and tea. Do not expect too much from here but if clean room is enough for you, than it'll work.

Unique Quality: Only good thing about this hotel is its location. It is on Nevsky and 2-3 minutes away from Mayakovskaya metro station. One should be aware that the hotel is not on the street. You will find No 61 building on Nevsky and get into its backyard. It is still not there. Walk forward and pass black iron gate on your left. The old ugly building on your right with brown metal door is where the rooms are. Do not seek for a sign, name or anything. There is no such thing. If you find the brown metal door, use the keypad and dial 2B. One of the old ladies will open it for you.

Directions: Walk 50m in the backyard, pass iron gate on your left, first building on your right with brown metal door. Dial 2B.
