Of the two, the Pulkovskaya Hotel is easier to get to the city from, it is located on the outskirts of the city, a 20 minute metro ride from the city center plus a 10 minute walk to the metro station. It is 5 km from the airport, I think it was about a 10 minute drive. The Pribaltiskaya, if memory serves me, was not served by the metro although there was a local tram/bus that we used.
This mammoth hotel has 840 rooms, divided into 2 blocks. The room was fine, the bed reasonably comfortable, small refrigerator, no hair dryer in the standard room.
A breakfast buffet is included in the rate, our group also got a buffet dinner. The food was adequate for breakfast, we opted to pass on dinner as there were much better options in the city.
This hotel was fine but I would not have stayed here if not with a group.
