Breakfast Suggestions around Park Hyatt (Moscow) and Sokos Hotel Vasilievsky (St Petersburg)

by micmik

Hi,

As my hotel room charges will not include breakfast, am thinking of checking out the local breakfast scene around my hotel in Moscow/StP. Any good suggestions??

Thanks!!

Good suggestions for the breakfast? hmm... I am sure there is a lot of places where it is possible to have a good breakfast in both Moscow and StP (in areaa around hotels you mentioned). Besides there are different prices in cafes and restaurants, so to find the convenient option will be not a problem

Hi
Try to look thought http://www.coffeemania.ru/eng/ Rozhdestvenka st., 6/9/20 (at the corner of Rozhdestvenka & Pushechnaya) metro Kuznetsky Most. It’s not cheap, min 20$. More expensive - http://eng.novikovgroup.ru/content/view/432/429/lang,ru/ for example - Vogue Café.
More budgetary http://shoko.ru/moskva/specialnye_predlozheniya/novye_lanchi_i_zavtraki/ 24 hours, 7/5 Pushechnaya street.
http://www.coffeehouse.ru/menu/blin (pancake)
http://www.coffeehouse.ru/menu/eat (soup, pie, salad, sandwiches) 24 hours, 3 Kuznetsky Most.
When do you want to have breakfast?
Have a good trip.
Oleg

In Moscow, I suggest you ask directions to find "Tverskaya Street" -around 3mins. walk from Hyatt- and just walk along this road. You will find mainstream low budget places like Coffee bean and Starbucks etc., but if you want more local breakfast (medium to higher budget) look for the smaller cafes along the road. You are sure to find some very nice cafes in side streets left and right off Tverskaya Street.

Or try out the Champagne Breakfast in the "Puschkin Cafe"...will cost you, but it is a famous place. Its around 10-15min. walk from your hotel.

Hi
Today morning I visited my dentist and went to the work not usual way and saw a lot working cafés and restaurants in Kamergerskiy pereulok (between Tverskaya and B. Dmitrovka streets, where famous Chekhov Theater is located http://www.mxat.ru/english/ ) at 8-30. It’ll be too closed to your hotel too.
Good luck!

Inside your hotel Ararat Park Hayatt there are the famous armenian restorant "Ararat", 2 cafe, 1 traditional and 1 sushi-bar :) It is a big problem to die from starvation in Moscow and SP, especially if your have a lot of $ :)))

Getting to my hotel from LED Airport

by determinetraveler

I will be staying at Sokos Hotel Vasilievsky in St. Petersburg in mid September. Their address is Vasilievsky Ostrov 8th line 11-13
St Petersburg. I need ideas on how to get to the hotel from the airport. Should I take a taxi and does anyone knows about how much it cost? Can I take public transportation and or train to get to the hotel. If I decide to go with a taxi at the airport are their any taxi companies or individuals that I should avoid? Any suggestions and ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thank You

by public transport you should get bus 39 or minibus which lead you to Moskovskaya metro station (the voyage in minibus, I used it more often, is RUR 26 and RUR 20 for the luggage (big suitcase or bag)). Then you go to Nevsky Prospekt station where change the line to Gostiny Dvor (line 3) and next station is Vasileostrovskaya. How to get the hotel place from the station is, in my opinion, easy to see on every map like Google or smth. I used taxi last time in the 2nd part of 2009 and I paid RUR 700 to the center (to go to the airport from the center it was RUR 500 in 2009 as well). There is official table in the airport for the taxi.

I was just struck by thought that I wrote above for LED 1, domestic flight terminal. For LED2, international, there is another bus line to metro station Moskovskaya, I hope someone will describe it too.

Please check Pilkovo airport information
http://www.pulkovoairport.ru/eng/transportation/

But I agree with the previous reply that google maps or similar kind of page is the best poss info. I've paid 600-1500rub for taxis between city and airport, so that's where you stand. Some 750rub is probably very reasonable price. I also
have plans to be in St Pete on 10-12sep, but have to check my job calendar first if I can be off on friday the 10th.

Have fun in Petersburg!

It will be very lengthy to go by subway. You have to transfer from one line to another. order the taxi from the hotel. If you take a cab from the airport it will cost you at least $60.
