    Enough good hotel for staying in the city when you mean to get bed and breakfast. In the same time service is not well. For example it was needed 50 minutes to give me a room despite of the room was booked. I think I'm satisfied with hotel because I need a sleep only. I stayed here when it was Sovetskaya Hotel. Since 2007 the hotel is a property Azimut Group that has some hotels in different Russian cities

    The hotel complex is situated in the very center of Saint-Petersburg on the Fontanka river embankment and at the intersection of two main thoroughfares - Rizhsky and Lermontovsky prospects, whichallow our guests to have pleasent walks over the historical center of the city along its rivers and canals. From the 18th floor of the hotel there is a beatufil view on St. Isaac's and Holy Trinity cathedrals, St. Nicole church, the most famous St. Petersburg theater - Mariinsky and Fontanka riverside and bridges.

    From the railway stations situated nearby - Baltiysky, at 800m, and Varshavsky, 1200m, - you will be able to get to the famous surburbs : Petrodvorets, Orienbaum, Gatchina. The distance to the "Pulcovo" International Airport is 20 km. For the most comfortable travelling around the city, you can rent a car with the driver from the hotel. The Hotel has a big and convenient parking area.

    The Sovetskaya is located a fair way from the centre of St Petersburg - in an area with little of note to visit, or little by way of places to go and eat. We did not explore the nightclub which is on the 6th floor or part of the hotel - which appears to be quite popular. The in-house Italian restaurant, which served a range of pizzas at affordable prices with a great view over the city on the 13th floor was popular with guests. The buffet breakfast was reasonable, although nothing really to enthuse about - the coffee was certainly not to be recommended.

    The rooms are comfortable, clean and well-appointed - apart from the beds - the hotel still uses sheets and blankets - meaning that summer nights can be either too hot or too cold. Worst of all though, the pillows were exceptionally uncomfortable - and there was no choice or hard/soft pillows - I had really problems sleeping as a result.

    The staff were helpful, the hotel secure and facilities were good enough, although the 3* rating of the accommodation, whilst in-keeping with Russian 3* hotels, would have struggled to be classed as 3* elsewhere.

    • The 18-stored building is located on the River Fontanka and on the crossroad of Rizsky Prospekt and Lermontovsky Prospekt.
    The hotel has 976 rooms. The one we had was a comfortable, elegantly furnished two-bed-room with a bathtub, a shower, WC, Telephone, TV and a great view over the roofs of St. Petersburg.

    I felt very safe in the hotel. There were concierges on every floor and at the entrance were guards

    The hotel is located in the centre of St. Petersburg, five minutes away from Trinity Cathedral, ten from next metro station.
    The hotel can easily be reached by car. In front of it is a huge guarded parking lot.
