One of the best way to experience life in a this Russian settlement is to stay with locals.
Offered in Listvyanka village, near the Baikal Hotel, the Baikal Ecological Museum, or the Pier. Accommodation in a private room, bathroom facilities shared with host family. Most of the hosts do not speak any foreign languages. Our hostess was called Gala and was living in a charming, clean, wooden house that had its own banya in the backyard. Having the keys to a wooden house in some village in the middle of Siberia provides a feeling that must be a unique quality on its own.
