I was there several years ago, don't think that anything has changed since then. No exact idea about night life, it's a pleasant city with nice and very friendly people, the kazaks' city with very specific traditional clothes, cuisine (very tasty by the way). Should go to the market, just walder along the streets. A fine place to relax. Shouldn't go to the remote places late at night, it'll be risky to find adventure there. Pleasant trip and stay!

Hi Mahamaran!
Where are you from? I’m asking it because there would be some problems in Krasnodar (especially in the night). Local policemen and Kazak people don’t like Caucasians, Arabs and people from Middle Asia. There is guerilla in Chechnya. So I advice you to be careful.

Join the Russians in their religious activities and a whole new world will open for you (see also my page about Russia in general).
A visit to one of the Russian Orthodox churches is a very special event full of mysticism. The iconostases of many churches are magnificent and the candlelights and (sometimes present) Gregorian singing give a mysterious atmosphere. Easter is by far the most attended religious day, then masses appear in and even around the church to listen to the traditional "Kristos Vaskris"!

Stumbling over war monuments

Russia honours his war victims like no other country ni the world. It's no wonder, as especially in the second worldwar this country alone lost over 30 million souls. Sadly enough the Sowjet powers didn't learn that war never is a means to make a statement with Afghanistan as clear example (the Russian Vietnam). Nevertheless, important to honour those who fell in these political coloured wars. In the city's Northern park, the fallen hero's are commemorated.

Buildings of law and finance

Though quite in dispute, Russian law is still trying to become more justified. Corruption one day has to stop and let's hope it starts in the courthouses of Krasnodar. Anya, Irina's sister that studied law on Krasnodar's university, will show the right way (-:
Money talks, in court but especially in business. Many banks have found their way in Krasnodar and no other then in the Netherlands they house in the most large and beautiful buildings in town (still stating that they really care for the customer).
