by ania70pl This hotel is situated in the historical part of Novgorod. There are bath- and shower-rooms, radio, telephones, TV sets in the rooms, in some rooms there are refrigerators. It isn't luxurious hotel but ok for one or two nights stay. Theme: HotelPrice: US$20-40 » Currency ConverterComparison: about averageAddress: Ul. The highlight od my visit to Novgorod... by bobs12 There are plenty more hotels than VT or an internet search will bring up. The best idea is to call up before going to check that there are places, but remember that most won't take reservations over the phone, so you'll have every chance to look round when you get there. When looking round and choosing a hotel from your list (if you've prepared one!), start with the cheapest- you may be surprised at the luxuries some of the renovated hotels are offering for relatively little money. The accented vowels show where the stress should go in pronunciation- handy if you get lost. 4* Berestá, tel (816) 223 3315 3* Vólkhov, tel (816) 211 5505 3* Intourist, tel (816) 221 74236 2* Sadko, tel (816) 266 3004 There are other hotels to choose from, WayToRussia has a list, although the prices are very out of date.
The one I stayed in gave me a jaccuzi and two beds for 1250 roubles- I could hardly have asked for more. Theme: Hotel

Entirely satisfactory and good value with breakfast for about $25 for a single room. The hotel restaurant is good and inexpensive and there are bars/restaurants nearby. No elevator though so perhaps not good for disabled travellers.

by Lalique We stayed in 4* Beresta which claims to be the best hotel on the way between Moscow and St. Pete. It belongs to Best Western chain and assosiation Asta. Looks western styled, has swimming pool and lot of other facilities. Theme: HotelComparison: about averageAddress: ulitsa Studencheskaya 3Other Contact: beresta@telecom.nov.ru

I believe this was the largest hotel in town and the one that guidebooks identified as the only western style hotel in town. Our stay there was fine, our package included dinner at the hotel which was good since it was a fair distance to town. After dinner we did venture into town as there was really nothing to do at the hotel and it was a hike, we walked to town along the river but since it was dark when we returned we opted to go along the street side which ran by a large park which I also wasn't keen to walk through at night so it took us a very long time to get back. You are right on the river here so some of the rooms had nice river views but ours was not one of them. Theme: HotelAddress: Studencheskaya ul 4A

The Beresta Palace Hotel is the best hotel in Novgorod and the only hotel of international standards. It belongs to the Best Western chain of hotels and was built in 1991. It is a low-rise building with 203 rooms, some of which face the Volkhov River. The rooms are equipped with all modern facilities expected of a 4-star hotel. I stayed at the Beresta Palace Hotel during my recent trip to Russia as it was a halfway stop between Moscow and St Petersburg. As it is located away from the historical center, there is nothing much to do after dinner except to walk to the bank of the Volkhov River where the locals like to hang out on summer evenings.
Located in a quiet residential area, the Beresta Palace Hotel is ideal for a good night's rest on the Moscow-St Petersburg route.
