Hotel Stalagmit: Hotel at 100m of the Kungur Ice Cave

We recently stayed in this hotel for one night.
We chose it because the hotel is conveniently located at 100m of the famous Kungur Ice Cave.
The room was very cheap and my conclusion is that we got what we paid for.

We had booked a standard twin room. Cost of the room was 1400r (35 EUR). Curiously, the fact of booking beforehand costed an extra 350r (8,75 EUR).

Reception staff is friendly, trying their best with extremely limited English.
Credit cards not accepted.

Wifi available in the reception area. You can "buy" the accesscode for 100r (2,5 EUR).

The room is very very basic. Old very hard beds and a bathroom of another age(I included a picture in order to judge for yourself).
Cleanliness was quite all right. The hotel also offers "liuks" and "pul-liuks" rooms which are probably a bit better.

The hotel includes a restaurant with a menu card that offers a vast choice of dishes... of which half is not available that day. Quality of the food ok, very good prices (full meal including drinks for less than 5 EUR),... however served by the usual stubborn and unfriendly waiter.

Breakfast is included and follows a fixed weekly menu. On the day we were there it consisted of a pancake filled with minced meat, a strange sausage and some pasta. Quality was probably allright (however, I personally prefer sweet breakfasts so I did not try it all...)

The hotel is situated at +/- 3km from Kungur railway station. Minibus nr. 9 runs this route : take the one going to the right when you have your back turned at the station, bus stop at 300m from the hotel.

Considering our heavy luggage, we had pre-booked a taxi through the hotel. Cost was 600r (15EUR) one-way.

Upon leaving the hotel to go back to the station, we had the hotel call a regular taxi and paid only 150r (3,75EUR) of which 50r was due to our voluminous luggage.

It is situated 100m from the Kungur Ice Cave.
