what are the nice places in Perm
i will travel to Perm in the next week 7 i wish to know the most famous places that i will visit there, so please tell me about the most famous streets that i can make photos there & about the famous statues & palaces
RE: RE: what are the nice places in Perm
Great information there that i did'nt know previously - and i spent a month in Perm last October and missed the chance to check out the Dr Zhivago connections.
The ballet is indeed very very good.
I went to a play also - The Adventures of Tom Sawyer/Huchleberry Finn - in a very nice theatre off of Komsomolsky Prospect..can't remember the street name now:(
The park on Komsomolsky prospect is ver good, with locals playing chess, go karting etc...and the market up near the bus station is good.Lots of uzbek traders.
I lived in an apartment out in Parkovi - do you know that area? Its meant to be the new hip residential area, its up from the train station a bit.
In general its a very nice place to walk around. The first day or two it seemed as if the city did'nt have much to offer, but i grew to like it alot.
Night life - i don't really know i'm afraid. Some good spots for food etc..
Travel Tips for Perm'
The sad zoo of Perm
The Zoo of Perm is situated conveniently along the street that leads from the ship-station to the city and there were only two reasons for me to go there :
1)The Zoo was built in the area of the former monastery and I was hoping to be able to get some unusual photos from that side of the park, but unfortunately that was impossible !
It was quite sad for me to see, how these poor animals have to spend the rest of their lifes, animals that are used to the temperatures of Africa, obviously living also in the winter in small, open cages...
At least the children have a great playground there, see my last picture !
2)Another reason to go to the Zoo was that I had received several bills of 1000 rubles at the ATM-machine and owed 100 rubles to a lady onboard, and paying the entrance-fee of 80 rubles for the zoo gave me a lot of smaller bills.
Papa Lenin did not have to go into Exile
While in many other places of Russia the monuments for Papa Lenin had been taken away after the last revolution in 1989, here in Perm nobody forced him to retire and so you will see his monuments still :
The one on my main photograph is close to the sculpture with the big ears, the other one is inside the park of the State Theatre of Ballet & Opera .
In a glimpse. Or more?
As I visit this city when I go on business trips, so I have'nt see so much yet but a kind of impression I do have by now.
Perm is a nice city, not so small I expected honestly :)
River Kamskaya is quite deep and fast. Unfortunately not very appropriate for swimming.
The embankment is nice and the view is great at any time of the day.
Prices are the same like in Moscow, or even a bit higher - that was a surprise :)
Perm Chinese-Japanse restaurants still serve the tasty food as usual - you may try any.
Hope to tell you more next time!
